Abstract

A detector (60) configured to be pressed and moved by a second housing (40) in the process of connecting first and second housings (10, 40) and separate the second housing 40 from the first housing (10) when a connecting operation of the first and second housings is stopped halfway is mounted on the first housing (10). The detector (60) integrally includes a resilient arm (61) configured to apply a separation force to the second housing (40) in a direction to separate the second housing (40) from the first housing (10) by sliding on a guiding surface (27) in one of the first and second housings (10, 40) to be deflected and deformed in a direction intersecting a connecting direction of the first and second housings (10, 40) in the process of connecting the first and second housings (10, 40).

Claims

1. A connector, comprising:

a first housing (10);

a second housing (40) connectable to the first housing (10) along a connecting direction and configured to be held connected to the first housing (10) at a proper connection position; and

at least one detector (60) mounted on the first housing (10) and configured to be pressed by the second housing (40) when connecting the first and second housings (10, 40), the detector (60) having at least one resilient arm (61) configured to slide on at least one guiding surface (27) on one of the first and second housings (10, 40) when connecting the first and second housings (10, 40) and to deflect resiliently in a direction intersecting the connecting direction, resilient restoring forces of the deflected resilient arm (61) applying a separation force to the second housing (40) in a direction to separate the second housing (40) from the first housing (10) so that the deflected resilient arm (61) of the detector (60) separates the second housing (40) from the first housing (10) when the first and second housings (10, 40) are not connected completely, thereby detecting an incomplete connection of the first and second housings (10, 40).

2. The connector of claim 1, wherein the first housing (10) includes a lock arm (32) and the second housing (40) is configured to be held connected to the first housing (10) by being locked by the lock arm (32) at the proper connection position.

3. The connector of claim 1, wherein the guiding surface (27) is provided in the first housing (10) and defines a slant (27) for deflecting and deforming the resilient arm portion (61) inward on the first housing (10).

The connector of claim 1, wherein the detector (60) includes at least one regulating portion (62) configured to regulate deflection and deformation of the lock arm (32) in a direction to release a locked state to the second housing (40) by contacting the lock arm (32) when the first and second housings (10, 40) are connected properly.

5. The connector according of claim 1, wherein the detector (60) has two spaced apart resilient arms (61) configured to be deflected and deformed toward each other when connecting the first and second housings (10, 40).

6. The connector of claim 5, further comprising a resilient member (90) between the resilient arms (61) and configured to be pressed and deformed resiliently by the resilient arm portions (61) and to assist separation forces by the resilient arm portions (61).

7. The connector of claim 6, wherein the resilient member (90) is a single torsion spring.

8. A connector of claim 6, wherein the first housing (10) includes a housing main body (11) configured to define a deflection space for the lock arm (32) between a lock piece (33) of the lock arm (32) and the housing main body (11), and the resilient member (90) being arranged between the lock piece (33) and the housing main body (11) at least before the detector (60) is moved.
