Abstract

A home system is provided. In a method of executing an application, information for executing the application is received from a device when accessing of the device is sensed, and the application is executed based on the received information. Accordingly, when a user merely brings a wireless guest device near to or in contact with an access point or a wired home device, it is possible to allow the wireless guest device to simultaneously automatically set an optimum security environment for a wireless network and execute an application that the user desires.

Claims

1. An apparatus, comprising:

a first interface configured to provide information via a first communication channel by triggering from an external device, and

a second interface configured to receive data to be used for processing via a second communication channel established based on the information,

wherein the first communication channel has a narrower communication bandwidth than the second communication channel.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is at least one of a TV, an Audio device, a display device, a computing device and a printer.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is a printer.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the printer processes printing operation based on the data.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first communication channel is established by one of Infrared in Data Association (IrDA), Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth, Smart Card and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first communication channel supports unidirectional communication.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the second communication channel is established by one of Wireless LAN network, Bluetooth or cellular network, for communicating in a wireless LAN network.

8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the second communication channel is used in a wireless LAN network which is compatible with IEEE 802.11 standard.

9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the information comprises identification information of the external device, MAC (Media Access Control) address, and random number corresponding to the external device.

10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the identification information comprises Service Set Identity (SSID).

11. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the second communication channel is established automatically based on the information provided via the first communication channel.

12. A method performed by an apparatus, the method comprising:

providing information via a first communication channel by triggering from an external device;

establishing a second communication channel with the external device based on the information; and

receiving data via the second communication channel which is established based on the information, the data being used for processing;

wherein the first communication channel has a narrower communication bandwidth than the second communication channel.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the apparatus is at least one of a TV, an Audio device, a display device, a computing device and a printer.

14. The method of claim 12, wherein the apparatus is a printer and the printer processes printing operation based on the data.

15. The method of claim 12, wherein the first communication channel is established by one of Infrared in Data Association (IrDA), Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth, Smart Card and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).

16. The method of claim 12, wherein the first communication channel supports unidirectional communication.

17. The method of claim 12, wherein the second communication channel is established by one of Wireless LAN network, Bluetooth or cellular network, for communicating in a wireless LAN network.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the second communication channel is used in a wireless LAN network which is compatible with IEEE 802.11 standard.

19. The method of claim 12, wherein the information comprises identification information of the external device, MAC (Media Access Control) address, and random number corresponding to the external device.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the identification information comprises Service Set Identity (SSID).

21. The method of claim 12, wherein the second communication channel is established automatically based on the information provided via the first communication channel.

22. An apparatus, comprising:

a first interface configured to obtain information via a first communication channel, and

a second interface configured to transmit data via a second communication channel which is established based on the information.

wherein the first communication channel has a narrower communication bandwidth than the second communication channel.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the data comprises a command indicating which operation to be processed and content data to be processed based on the operation.

24. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the information comprises identification information, MAC (Media Access Control) address, and random number.

25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the identification information comprises Service Set Identity (SSID).

26. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the second communication channel is established automatically based on the information provided via the first communication channel.

27. A method performed by an external device, the method comprising:

obtaining information via a first communication channel; and

establishing a second communication channel with an apparatus based on the information; and

transmitting data to be used via the second communication channel which is established based on the information.

wherein the first communication channel has a narrower communication bandwidth than the second communication channel.

28. The method of claim 27, wherein the data comprises a command indicating which operation to be processed and content data to be processed based on the operation.

29. The method of claim 27, wherein the information comprises identification information, MAC (Media Access Control) address, and random number.

30. The method of claim 29, wherein the identification information comprises Service Set Identity (SSID).
