Abstract

There is provided herein a system for identifying a selected icon, the system comprising at least one controller configured to obtain from a sensor a signal indicative of an eye-response of a user, said eye-response is responsive to at least one dynamic property of a dynamic icon selected by the user by watching said selected dynamic icon, analyze said eye-response of said user, identify said selected dynamic icon based on said analysis, and produce a signal indicative of said selected dynamic icon.

Claims

1. A system for identifying a selected icon, the system comprising at least one controller configured to:

obtain from a sensor a signal indicative of a user'"'"'s eye movement signal of at least one eye of said user;

analyze said eye movement of signal and search for an indication of an eye response of said user to at least one dynamic property of a dynamic icon selected by the user by watching said selected dynamic icon;

identify said selected dynamic icon based on said analysis; and

produce a signal indicative of said selected dynamic icon.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein said controller is further configured to activate at least one dynamic icon such that each of said at least one dynamic icon demonstrates at least one distinctive dynamic property.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein said system configured for use as a Man Machine Interface (MMI) and wherein said signal indicative of said selected dynamic icon is configured to interface with a machine.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein said dynamic icon is configured to be activated independent of said at least one controller.

The system of claim 1, wherein said identifying said selected dynamic icon comprises forming an identification signature for said identified selected dynamic icon and wherein said identifying said selected dynamic icon further comprises comparing said identification signature to a database comprising at least one pre-stored unique identification signatures of dynamic icons.

7. The system of claim 5, wherein said identification signature is binary coded.

8. The system of claim 5, comprising at least two dynamic icons, wherein each one of said at least two dynamic icon'"'"'s is designed to form a different identification signature.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein said at least one dynamic property of said dynamic icon comprises a dynamic visual characteristic comprising dynamic position, color, brightness, size, shape, frequency, velocity, acceleration, pattern, trajectory and/or any combination thereof.

The system of claim 1, wherein said eye-response comprises eye-movement trajectory, eye-movement direction, eye-movement frequency, pupil activity, pupil size, blinking speed, blinking frequency, gaze, saccades, drift, fixation, nystagmus, convergence, rolling, smooth pursuit, or any combination thereof.

The system of claim 1, wherein said at least one dynamic icon is one dimensional, two dimensional, three dimensional dynamic icon, a one dimensional dynamic icon placed on a three dimensional object, a two dimensional dynamic icon placed on a three dimensional object or any combination thereof.

16. The system of claim 1, further comprising a sensor configured to acquire said user'"'"'s eye-response.

17. The system of claim 16, wherein said sensor comprises a black and white camera, a color camera, an infra-red sensitive camera, a three dimensional camera, a CCD, CMOS, ERG apparatus, Ober detection apparatus, coil eye detection apparatus, photodiode set-up or any combination thereof.

The system of claim 1, wherein said analysis of said obtained eye movement signal comprises image processing to calculate the location of the user'"'"'s eyes, creating a temporal eye-response signal of said user, and analysis of said temporal eye-response signal to obtain the identity of said selected dynamic icon.

22. The system of claim 1, further comprising a display unit configured to display said at least one dynamic icon.

25. The system of claim 16, wherein said sensor, said at least one controller and said dynamic icons are all embedded in a mobile device.

26. A method for identifying a dynamic icon selected by a user'"'"'s eyes, the method comprising:

obtain, from a sensor, a signal indicative of a user'"'"'s eye movement signal of at least one eye of the user;

analyzing, via the controller, the eye movement signal and search for an indication of an eye response of the user to at least one dynamic property of a dynamic icon selected by the user by watching the selected dynamic icon; and

identifying, via the controller, the selected dynamic icon based on the analysis, and

producing a signal indicative of the selected dynamic icon.

27. The method of claim 26, further comprising, activating at least one dynamic icon such that each of the at least one dynamic icon demonstrates at least one dynamic property.

The method of claim 26, wherein identifying the selected dynamic icon comprises forming an identification signature for the identified selected dynamic icon, wherein identifying the selected dynamic icon further comprises comparing the identification signature to a database comprising at least one pre-stored unique identification signatures of dynamic icons.

31. The method of claim 29, wherein the identification signature is binary coded.

The method of claim 26, wherein analyzing the obtained eye movement signal comprises image processing to calculate the location of the user'"'"'s eyes, creating a temporal eye-response signal of the user, and analysis of the temporal eye-response signal to obtain the identity of the selected dynamic icon.
