Abstract

The technology performs obligations fulfillment monitoring. An input data stream of data messages is received including transaction data and reference data, obligation control logic, and a set of obligation parameters associated with the obligation control logic. An event data processor processes the input data stream using a current version of the obligation control logic and the set of obligation parameters. Subsequently, the event processor receives information to implement and execute obligation control logic that is dynamically-modified and different from the current version of the obligation control logic. The event processor generates and outputs an obligation fulfillment message based on the dynamically-modified obligation logic and transmits to an interested entity.

Claims

1. An obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus, comprising:

one or more communications interfaces configured to receive an input data stream of electronic data messages including transaction data and reference data, obligation computer control logic, and a set of obligation parameters associated with the obligation computer control logic;

one or more event data processors, coupled to the one or more communications interfaces, configured to process the received input data stream of electronic data messages using a current version of the obligation computer control logic and the set of obligation parameters to generate a first electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring status data message; and

an electronic obligations data message memory coupled to the one or more event data processors,

wherein the one or more event data processors are further configured to;

receive information to implement and execute obligation computer control logic that is dynamically-modified and different from the current version of the obligation computer control logic;

generate a second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message based on the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic;

store the second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message in the electronic obligations data message memory; and

output the second electronic obligation data monitoring message.

2. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 1, wherein the obligation fulfillment monitoring data message relates to an entity being monitored, and

wherein the reference data corresponds to relatively static data associated with the monitored entity as compared to the set of obligation parameters.

3. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 2, wherein the entity is a market maker, the transaction data includes market transactions, and reference data relates to relatively static parameters associated with the market maker.

4. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 3, wherein the input data stream of electronic data messages comprises electronic data messages related to orders and quotes input to an automated exchange.

5. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 3, wherein the input data stream of electronic data messages comprises electronic data messages related to trades and trading information derived in an automated exchange based on orders and quotes input to the automated exchange.

6. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 1, wherein the one or more event data processors are configured to select the obligation computer control logic for execution based on one or both of the reference data or the set of obligation parameters.

7. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 1, wherein the

set of obligation parameters includes limits for the obligation computer control logic.

8. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 1, wherein the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic is based on a domain-specific language (DSL) and includes DSL-based rules.

9. The obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus of claim 1, wherein the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic is modifiable in real time without having to install a new version of the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic in the obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus.

10. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer-readable code for monitoring for obligations fulfillment which, when executed by a computer having one or more event data processors, performs functionality comprising:

receiving an input data stream of electronic data messages including transaction data and reference data, obligation computer control logic, and a set of obligation parameters associated with the obligation computer control logic;

processing the received input data stream of electronic data messages using a current version of the obligation computer control logic and the set of obligation parameters to generate a first electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message;

receiving information to implement and execute obligation computer control logic that is dynamically-modified and different from the current version of the obligation computer control logic;

generating a second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message based on the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic;

storing the second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message; and

outputting the second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring message.

11. A method for monitoring for obligations fulfillment, comprising:

receiving, via a communications interface, an input data stream of electronic data messages including transaction data and reference data, obligation computer control logic, and a set of obligation parameters associated with the obligation computer control logic;

processing, by one or more data event processors, the received input data stream of electronic data messages using a current version of the obligation computer control logic and the set of obligation parameters to generate a first electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message;

receiving information to implement and execute obligation computer control logic that is dynamically-modified and different from the current version of the obligation computer control logic;

generating, by the one or more data event processors, a second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message based on the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic;

storing the second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring data message; and

outputting the second electronic obligation fulfillment monitoring message.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the obligation fulfillment monitoring data message relates to an entity being monitored, and wherein the reference data corresponds to relatively static data associated with the monitored entity as compared to the set of obligation parameters.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the entity is a market maker, the transaction data includes market transactions, and reference data relates to relatively static parameters associated with the market maker.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the input data stream of electronic data messages comprises electronic data messages related to orders and quotes input to an automated exchange.

15. The method of claim 13, wherein the input data stream of electronic data messages comprises electronic data messages related to trades and trading information derived in an automated exchange based on orders and quotes input to the automated exchange.

16. The method of claim 11, further comprising selecting the obligation computer control logic for execution based on one or both of the reference data or the set of obligation parameters.

17. The method of claim 11, wherein the set of obligation parameters includes limits for the obligation computer control logic.

18. The method of claim 11, wherein the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic is based on a domain-specific language (DSL) and includes DSL-based rules.

19. The method of claim 11, further comprising modifying the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic in real time without having to install a new version of the dynamically-modified obligation computer control logic in the obligations fulfillment monitoring apparatus.
