Abstract

A method for controlling a terminal through a voice input is provided. The method includes receiving a voice input when the terminal is in a state in which the terminal is locked and performing an operation corresponding to the voice input if the voice input corresponds to a preset command.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a sound input device to receive a sound input; and

a controller configured to;

receive a sound input, via the sound input device, while the apparatus is in a locked state,

determine if the sound input corresponds to a specified command, and

perform an operation corresponding to the specified command based at least in part on the determination.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus comprises a display device, and the locked state comprises a state in which the display device is turned off, or a state in which at least one portion of the display device is not responsive to touch input.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to:

perform the operation; and

release the locked state based at least in part on the determination.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the operation comprises executing at least one of a schedule application, a media application, a camera application, a specified network, a specified account mode, and a message application.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to:

perform a first operation if the sound input corresponds to a first command; and

perform a second operation if the sound input corresponds to a second command.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to display a user interface corresponding to the operation via a display device operatively coupled with the apparatus.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to store a sound characteristic of a user to recognize the specified command.

8. An apparatus comprising:

a display device to display an operating state of the apparatus;

a sound input device to receive a sound input; and

a controller configured to;

receive a sound input, via the sound input device, in a state that the display device is turned off,

determine if the sound input corresponds to a specified command, and

perform an operation corresponding to the specified command based at least in part on the determination.

9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the state comprises a locked state corresponding to the apparatus, or a state in which at least one portion of the apparatus is turned off.

10. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the controller is further configured to:

turn on the display based at least in part on the determination; and

provide the operation via the display device based at least in part on the determination.

11. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the operation comprises executing at least one of a schedule application, a media application, a camera application, a specified network, a specified account mode, and a message application.

12. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the controller is further configured to:

perform a first operation if the sound input corresponds to a first command; and

perform a second operation if the sound input corresponds to a second command.

13. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the controller is further configured to store a sound characteristic of a user to recognize the specified command.

14. A method comprising:

receiving a sound input, at an electronic device, in a state that a display device operatively coupled with the electronic device is turned off;

determining if the sound input corresponds to a specified command; and

performing an operation corresponding to the specified command based at least in part on a result of the determination.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the state comprises a locked state corresponding to the electronic device, or a state that at least one portion of the electronic device is turned off.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein the performing comprises:

turning on a display device based at least in part on the result of the determination; and

providing the operation via the display device based at least in part on the result of the determination.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein the operation comprises executing at least one of a schedule application, a media application, a camera application, a specified network, a specified account mode, and a message application.

18. The method of claim 14, wherein the performing comprises:

performing a first operation if the sound input corresponds to a first command; and

performing a second operation if the sound input corresponds to a second command.

19. The method of claim 14, wherein the performing comprises:

providing a first account mode user interface if the sound input corresponds to a first user sound character; and

providing a second account mode user interface if the sound input corresponds to a second user sound character.

20. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

storing a sound characteristic of a user to recognize the specified command.
