Abstract

An apparatus that includes a vibration sensor and a circuit. The vibration sensor provides an indication of vibration sensed in a motorized vehicle. The circuit determines a remedial action to be taken for the motorized vehicle based at least in part on the sensed vibration.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a vibration sensor to provide an indication of vibration sensed in a motorized vehicle; and

a circuit to determine a remedial action to be taken for the motorized vehicle based at least in part on the sensed vibration.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the circuit is adapted to determine the action based at least in part on a comparison of a signature of the sensed vibration to at least one other vibration signature.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the circuit is adapted to selectively generate an alarm based on the determination to address a safety concern or a maintenance issue.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:

a communication interface,

wherein the circuit is adapted to use the interface to communicate a signal indicative of the action to a database remotely disposed from the motorized vehicle.

5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the signal is indicative of a first occurrence of the sensed vibration causing the action, and the circuit is further adapted to provide daily updates to the remote database after the initial sensed vibration.

6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein the circuit is further adapted to communicate a daily log indicating a daily number of trips and a duration of each of the daily number of trips after the initial occurrence.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a display disposed on the motorized vehicle, wherein the circuit is adapted to use the display to provide an indication of the action.

8. A method comprising:

receiving data indicative of vibration patterns sensed for motorized vehicles;

receiving data indicative of maintenance records for the motorized vehicles; and

based at least in part on the vibration patterns and the maintenance records, determining a remedial action for a given motorized vehicle based on a given future vibration pattern being sensed for the given motorized vehicle.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein receiving the data indicative of the vibration patterns comprises receiving data communicated autonomously by the motorized vehicles.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein determining the remedial action comprises correlating previously diagnosed problems to the at least one vibration record.

11. The method of claim 8, further comprising updating at least one of the motorized vehicles from which the data indicative of the vibration patterns is received with data representing association of the given vibration pattern to the remedial action.

12. An article comprising a non-transitory computer accessible storage medium to store instructions that when executed by a processor-based system cause the processor-based system to:

receive an indication of vibration sensed in a motorized vehicle; and

determine a remedial action to be taken for the motorized vehicle based at least in part on the sensed vibration.

13. The article of claim 12, the storage medium storing instructions that when executed by the processor-based system cause the processor-based system to compare a pattern associated with the sensed vibration to at least one other vibration pattern associated with a known cause.

14. The article of claim 12, the storage medium storing instructions that when executed by the processor-based system cause the processor-based system to selectively generate an alarm to indicate a safety or a maintenance issue based at least in part on the determination.

15. The article of claim 12, the storage medium storing instructions that when executed by the processor-based system cause the processor-based system to communicate a signal from the motorized vehicle to a database remotely disposed from the motorized vehicle, the signal being indicative of the determined action.
