Abstract

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for automatically reporting progress in completing objectives and goals of a plan. During operation, the system receives data indicating user selection and/or configuration of a plan with one or more goals, objectives, and/or milestones. The system obtains data generated by sensors in a sensing device and/or a mobile device. The sensors generate physiological data or data from detecting activity or environment associated with the user. Next, the system analyzes the data to determine whether the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan. If the system determines that the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan, the system pushes an alert to the mobile device indicating that the user has completed the objective, milestone, or goal.

Claims

1. A computer-executable method for automatically reporting progress in completing objectives and goals of a plan, comprising:

receiving data indicating user selection and/or configuration of a plan with one or more goals, objectives, and/or milestones;

obtaining data generated by one or more sensors in a sensing device and/or a mobile device, wherein the one or more sensors generate physiological data or data from detecting activity or environment associated with the user;

analyzing the data to determine whether the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan; and

responsive to determining that the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan, pushing an alert to the mobile device indicating that the user has completed the objective, milestone, or goal.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising pushing an alert to the mobile device indicating one of:

the user has completed a certain percentage of an objective, milestone, or goal;

the user has completed a number or percentage of objectives of the plan; and

the user must complete a certain percentage or number of tasks or other activities to complete an objective, milestone, or goal.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising delivering one or more plans to the mobile device.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein obtaining data comprises querying an online service that stores data received from the sensing device and/or mobile device.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

sending a message to the mobile device requesting confirmation that the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein obtaining data comprises receiving sensor data directly from the sensing device and/or mobile device.

7. A computing system for automatically reporting progress in completing objectives and goals of a plan, the system comprising:

one or more processors,

a computer-readable medium coupled to the one or more processors having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising;

receiving data indicating user selection and/or configuration of a plan with one or more goals, objectives, and/or milestones;

obtaining data generated by one or more sensors in a sensing device and/or a mobile device, wherein the one or more sensors generate physiological data or data from detecting activity or environment associated with the user;

analyzing the data to determine whether the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan; and

responsive to determining that the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan, pushing an alert to the mobile device indicating that the user has completed the objective, milestone, or goal.

8. The computing system of claim 7, further comprising pushing an alert to the mobile device indicating one of:

the user has completed a certain percentage of an objective, milestone, or goal;

the user has completed a number or percentage of objectives of the plan; and

the user must complete a certain percentage or number of tasks or other activities to complete an objective, milestone, or goal.

9. The computing system of claim 7, further comprising delivering one or more plans to the mobile device.

10. The computing system of claim 7, wherein obtaining data comprises querying an online service that stores data received from the sensing device and/or mobile device.

11. The computing system claim 7, further comprising:

sending a message to the mobile device requesting confirmation that the user has completed an objective, milestone, or goal of the plan.

12. The computing system claim 7, wherein obtaining data comprises receiving sensor data directly from the sensing device and/or mobile device.

13. A computing system for automatically reporting objective completion, comprising:

receiving, at a mobile device, data describing one or more plans with one or more goals and objectives;

receiving user input to select and/or configure a plan with one or more goals and objectives;

transmitting, by the mobile device, data indicating user selection and/or configuration of a plan with one or more goals and objectives;

receiving an alert indicating that a user has completed an objective and/or a goal of the plan; and

notifying the user of the alert on the mobile device.

14. The computing system of claim 13, further comprising:

receiving an instruction to initiate collection of data from one or more sensors embedded on the mobile device, wherein the one or more sensors generate data describing user'"'"'s activities, physiology, and/or environment;

transmitting the data collected from the one or more sensors;

receiving an alert indicating that the user has completed an objective/milestone and/or a goal of the plan; and

notifying the user of the alert.
