Abstract

Disclosed are a broadcast signal transmitting apparatus, a broadcast signal receiving apparatus, and a broadcast signal transceiving method in the broadcast signal transmitting and receiving apparatuses. The broadcast signal transmitting method comprises the steps of: compressing headers of data packets which are included in an Internet protocol (IP) stream identified by access information, wherein the compressed data packets include a first packet containing both static information and dynamic information in the header thereof, and a second packet containing dynamic information in the header thereof; splitting the static information from the header of the first packet and diverting the remaining part thereof into the second packet; outputting an IP stream, which includes the second packet, via a data physical layer pipe (PLP); outputting, via a common PLP, a common stream, which includes the static information of the header of the first packet split in the previous step, compression information and IP-PLP mapping information for linking the IP stream and the data PLP; generating a signal frame on the basis of the data from the data PLP and the data of the common PLP; and transmitting a broadcast signal which includes the signal frame.

Claims

1. A method of processing broadcast data in a transmitter, the method comprising:

formatting at least one input stream including data packets into one or multiple Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs) for a service;

Forward Error Correction (FEC) encoding PLP data of one or multiple PLPs;

bit interleaving the FEC-encoded PLP data;

time interleaving the bit-interleaved PLP data;

building a signal frame including the time-interleaved PLP data; and

transmitting a broadcast signal including data of the signal frame,

wherein the signal frame further includes signaling information that contains mapping information for mapping between the input stream and one or multiple PLPs, and wherein the mapping information includes access information for accessing the input stream and PLP information for identifying the PLPs.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the signaling information further includes bootstrap information.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the PLP information includes a PLP identifier for identifying each of the PLPs.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the data packets has a header and a payload, the header including information for signaling the payload and the payload including the input stream, and wherein at least one of the header and the payload is compressed.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the signaling information further includes compression information when at least one of the header and the payload is compressed.

6. A transmitting system for processing broadcast data, the transmitting system comprising:

an input processor to format at least one input stream including data packets into one or multiple Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs) for a service;

an encoder to Forward Error Correction (FEC) encode PLP data of one or multiple PLPs;

a first interleaver to bit interleave the FEC-encoded PLP data;

a second interleaver to time interleave the bit-interleaved PLP data;

a frame builder to build a signal frame including the time-interleaved PLP data; and

a transmitter to transmit a broadcast signal including data of the signal frame,

wherein the signal frame further includes signaling information that contains mapping information for mapping between the input stream and one or multiple PLPs, and wherein the mapping information includes access information for accessing the input stream and PLP information for identifying the PLPs.

7. The transmitting system of claim 6, wherein the signaling information further includes bootstrap information.

8. The transmitting system of claim 6, wherein the PLP information includes a PLP identifier for identifying each of the PLPs.

9. The transmitting system of claim 6, wherein each of the data packets has a header and a payload, the header including information for signaling the payload and the payload including the input stream, and wherein at least one of the header and the payload is compressed.

10. The transmitting system of claim 9, wherein the signaling information further includes compression information when at least one of the header and the payload is compressed.
