Abstract

Systems and methods are described herein to determine data associated with affiliated color palettes identified from keyword searches of color palettes. Color palettes may be searched by name or other data associated with the color palettes. Affiliated color palettes may be determined based at least in part on an input color. Furthermore, affiliated colors can be determined based at least in part on votes and/or rankings. The items and/or images associated with affiliated color palettes may be identified. Various user interfaces may be based at least in part on the keyword searches of color palettes and/or determination of affiliated color palettes.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a data store configured to store at least a plurality of color palettes and a plurality of images, wherein each color palette of the plurality of color palettes comprises a plurality of colors, wherein each image of the plurality of images comprises one or more colors, and wherein each image of the plurality of images is associated with an item type; and

a hardware processor in communication with the data store, the hardware processor configured to execute computer-executable instructions to at least;

receive a search phrase;

select a search color palette from the plurality of color palettes based at least in part on the search phrase being associated with data of the search color palette;

select an input color from the plurality of colors of the search color palette;

determine an input color range based at least in part on a color distance from the input color in a color space;

identify an affiliated color palette, wherein the affiliated color palette comprises at least one color within the input color range;

identify a first set of the plurality of images matching a first color of the affiliated color palette, wherein the identification of the first set of the plurality of images is based at least in part on a first item type associated with the first set of the plurality of images;

identify a second set of the plurality of images matching a second color the affiliated color palette, wherein the identification of the first set of the plurality of images is based at least in part on a second item type associated with the second set of the plurality of images; and

provide the first set of the plurality of images, the second set of the plurality of images, and the affiliated color palette for presentation.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the hardware processor is further configured to execute computer-executable instructions to at least:

assign a weight to each color of the affiliated color palette, the weight associated with ratings of color palettes comprising the color; and

select the first color of the affiliated color palette based at least in part on the weight of at least two colors of the affiliated color palette.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the affiliated color palette is further identified based at least in part on a rating of the affiliated color palette.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the affiliated color palette is further identified based at least in part on:

identifying related color palettes based at least in part on the related color palettes comprising the input color;

assigning a weight to each color of the related color palettes, the weight associated with ratings of color palettes comprising the color; and

generating the affiliated color palette based at least in part on selecting at least two colors from the related color palettes, wherein the selection of the at least two colors is based at least in part on the weight of the respective two colors.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the hardware processor is further configured to execute computer-executable instructions to at least:

receive detection of user input indicating a third color of the affiliated color palette associated with the first item type;

identify a third set of the plurality of images matching the third color of the affiliated color palette, wherein the identification of the third set of the plurality of images is based at least in part on the first item type associated with the third set of the plurality of images; and

provide the third set of the plurality of images for presentation.

6. A computer-implemented method comprising:

under control of a hardware computing device configured with specific computer-executable instructions,

receiving a search phrase;

selecting a search color palette based at least in part on the search phrase being associated with data of the search color palette, wherein the search color palette comprises one or more colors;

selecting an input color from the one or more colors of the search color palette;

determining an input color range based at least in part on a color distance from the input color in a color space;

identifying a set of affiliated color palettes based at least in part on a plurality of color palettes, wherein an affiliated color palette is a color palette comprising at least one color within the input color range, and wherein each affiliated color palette comprises one or more colors;

identifying, for each of the colors of the set of affiliated color palettes, at least one image corresponding to a color of the set of affiliated color palettes, the at least one image associated with an item; and

identifying the item based at least in part on the at least one image.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein identifying the set of affiliated color palettes is based at least in part on ratings of color palettes.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein identifying the set of affiliated color palettes further comprises:

assigning a weight to each color of the plurality of color palettes; and

selecting the set of affiliated color palettes based at least in part on the weight of at least two colors of the plurality of color palettes.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein at least one color palette of the plurality of color palettes comprises human generated data.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein the input color range is determined using a human color distance formula.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein the search phrase is based at least in part on user input.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, further comprising determining metadata associated with the identified item.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein identifying the set of affiliated color palettes further comprises:

identifying related color palettes based at least in part on the related color palettes comprising the input color;

assigning a weight to each color of the related color palettes, the weight associated with ratings of color palettes comprising the color; and

generating each affiliated color palette of the set of affiliated color palettes based at least in part on selecting at least two colors from the related color palettes;

wherein the selection of the at least two colors is based at least in part on the weight of the respective colors.

14. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer executable instructions that when executed by a processor perform operations comprising:

receiving a search phrase;

selecting a search color palette based at least in part on the search phrase being associated with data of the search color palette, wherein the search color palette comprises one or more colors;

selecting an input color from the one or more colors of the search color palette;

determining an input color range based at least in part on a color distance from the input color in a color space;

identifying a set of affiliated color palettes based at least in part on a plurality of color palettes, wherein an affiliated color palette is a color palette comprising at least one color within the input color range, and wherein each affiliated color palette comprises one or more colors; and

identifying, for each of the colors of the set of affiliated color palettes, at least one image corresponding to a color of the set of affiliated color palettes.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14, wherein identifying the set of affiliated color palettes is based at least in part on ratings of color palettes.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14, the operations further comprising determining one or more color names for at least one color of the set of affiliated color palettes.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14, the operations further comprising identifying at least one item based at least in part on the identified at least one image.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14, wherein at least one color palette of the plurality of color palettes comprises human generated data.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14, wherein the input color range is determined using a human color distance formula.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14, wherein the search phrase is based at least in part on user input.
