Abstract

A method and system for providing lead recommendations are disclosed. A server system stores profile information for a plurality of members of a server system. The server system then analyzes the stored profile information to identify one or more potential sales lead recommendations for a first member of the server system. The server system then ranks the one or more identified potential sales lead recommendations. The server system selects one or more of the identified sales lead recommendations and transmits the selected one or more identified sales lead recommendations to a client device associated with the first member of the server system.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

storing profile information for a plurality of members of a server system;

analyzing, at the server system, with one or more processors, the stored profile information to identify one or more potential sales lead recommendations for a first member of the server system;

ranking the one or more identified potential sales lead recommendations;

selecting one or more of the identified sales lead recommendations; and

transmitting the selected one or more identified sales lead recommendations to a client device associated with the first member of the server system.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the stored profile information includes member activity data for the plurality of members of the server system.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the stored profile information includes customer data for the first member of the server system.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein analyzing the stored profile information to identify one or more potential sales lead recommendations further includes:

identifying one or more current customers of the first member; and

analyzing the stored profile information to identify members that are similar to the one or more current customers of the first member.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein analyzing the stored profile information to identify the one or more potential sales lead recommendations further includes:

identifying, based on activity data associated with the first member, one or more current members that are of interest to the first member; and

analyzing the stored profile information to identify members that are similar to the one or more current members that are of interest to the first member.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the activity data includes profile views, profile saves, messages between members, and completed sales.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein analyzing the stored profile information to identify the one or more potential sales lead recommendations further includes:

identifying one or more information fields in the stored profile information that are associated with product purchasing potential;

for a respective member in the plurality of members;

for each respective information field, determining whether data stored in a corresponding field of a member profile of the respective member indicates that the respective member is likely to have product purchasing potential; and

in accordance with a determination that one or more information fields in the respective member'"'"'s profile indicate that the respective member is likely to have product purchasing potential, identifying the respective member as a potential lead recommendation.

The method of claim 7, wherein the identified one or more information fields include one or more of the respective member'"'"'s occupation, the respective member'"'"'s title, the respective member'"'"'s employer, the respective member'"'"'s seniority, the respective member'"'"'s social graph, the respective member'"'"'s activity data, and the respective member'"'"'s work history.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein ranking the one or more identified potential sales lead recommendations further includes generating a match score for each of the identified potential sales lead recommendations.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the match score is generated at least partially based on member preferences of the first member.

11. The method of claim 9 wherein the match score is generated at least partially based on information stored in the first member'"'"'s profile.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the match score is generated at least partially based on a member proximity score between the first member and a member associated with a respective potential sales lead recommendation.

13. The method of claim 1 further including:

receiving additional information for one or more members from a third party server; and

wherein identifying one or more potential sales lead recommendations is based at least partially on the received additional information.

14. A system comprising:

one or more processors;

memory; and

one or more programs stored in the memory, the one or more programs comprising instructions for;

storing profile information for a plurality of members of a server system;

analyzing, at the server system, with one or more processors, the stored profile information to identify one or more potential sales lead recommendations for a first member of the server system;

ranking the one or more identified potential sales lead recommendations;

selecting one or more of the identified sales lead recommendations; and

transmitting the selected one or more identified sales lead recommendations to a client device associated with the first member of the server system.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the stored profile information includes member activity data for a plurality of members of a server system.

16. The system of claim 14, wherein stored profile information includes customer data for the first member of the server system.

17. The system of claim 14, wherein ranking the one or more identified potential sales lead recommendations further includes generating a match score for each of the identified potential sales lead recommendations.

18. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs for execution by one or more processors, the one or more programs comprising instructions for:

storing profile information for a plurality of members of a server system;

analyzing, at the server system, with one or more processors, the stored profile information to identify one or more potential sales lead recommendations for a first member of the server system;

ranking the one or more identified potential sales lead recommendations;

selecting one or more of the identified sales lead recommendations; and

transmitting the selected one or more identified sales lead recommendations to a client device associated with the first member of the server system.

19. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the stored profile information includes member activity data for the plurality of members of the server system.

20. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the stored profile information includes customer data for the first member of the server system.
