Abstract

A gesture profile may be set up for making a purchase. The gesture profile may define a gesture that triggers a purchase transaction. When the gesture is detected, a purchase target may be searched and identified. The purchase target may be purchased automatically using a payment method defined in the gesture profile. When multiple purchase targets are identified, a user selection may be received to select one or more purchase targets. The selected purchase targets may be purchased using the payment method defined in the gesture profile. Accordingly, a user may purchase a product or service by making a simple gesture on a mobile device.

Claims

1. A system for facilitating purchase using gesture, the system comprising:

a hardware memory storing information about a payment account of a user and a gesture profile defining a gesture that triggers a purchase transaction using the payment account, and

one or more processors in communication with the memory and adapted to;

receive a user input from a user device performed by the user;

determine whether the user input received from the user device matches the gesture defined in the gesture profile;

in response to determining that the user input matches the gesture defined in the gesture profile, automatically identify a product to be purchased; and

process a purchase transaction for purchasing the product.

2. The system of claim 1,

wherein the gesture profile defines a purchase target, and

wherein the one or more processors are further adapted to:

determine the product to be purchased based on the purchase target;

determine a merchant who sells the product to be purchased; and

purchase the product from the merchant in the purchase transaction.

3. The system of claim 2,

wherein the purchase target is associated with an audio recording, and

wherein the step of identifying a product comprises:

receiving an audio recording;

accessing a song database; and

identifying a song from the audio recording based on the song database.

4. The system of claim 2,

wherein the purchase target is associated with an image displayed on a display device;

and

wherein the step of identifying a product comprises;

receiving an image displayed on the display device;

accessing a product database; and

identifying a product from the image displayed on the display device based on the product database.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the user input, which matches the gesture defined in the gesture profile, is made over the image on the display device.

6. The system of claim 2,

wherein a plurality of products are identified;

wherein the one or more processors are further adapted to;

present a list of the plurality of products to the user; and

receive a user input selecting products to be purchased from the list of products.

7. The system of claim 2,

wherein a plurality of merchants are identified;

wherein the one or more processors are further adapted to;

present a list of the plurality of merchants to the user; and

receive a user input selecting a merchant from the list of merchants.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are further adapted to:

receive a request for setting up the gesture profile;

send a gesture profile form to the user;

receive the gesture profile from the user via the gesture profile form; and

designate the gesture that triggers a purchase transaction based on the gesture profile.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the user input that matches the gesture is received via a touch screen.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein the user input that matches the gesture is received via a camera.

11. A method for facilitating purchase using gesture, the method comprising:

storing information about a payment account of a user and a gesture profile defining a gesture that triggers a purchase transaction using the payment account;

receiving a user input from a user device performed by the user;

determining whether the user input received from the user device matches the gesture defined in the gesture profile;

in response to determining that the user input matches the gesture defined in the gesture profile, automatically identifying a product to be purchased; and

processing a purchase transaction for purchasing the product.

12. The method of claim 11,

wherein the gesture profile defines a purchase target, and

wherein the method further comprises:

determine the product to be purchased based on the purchase target;

determine a merchant who sells the product to be purchased; and

purchase the product from the merchant in the purchase transaction.

13. The method of claim 12,

wherein the purchase target is associated with an audio recording, and

wherein the step of identifying a product comprises:

receiving an audio recording;

accessing a song database; and

identifying a song from the audio recording based on the song database.

14. The method of claim 12,

wherein the purchase target is associated with an image displayed on a display device, and

wherein the step of identifying a product comprises:

receiving an image displayed on the display device;

accessing a product database; and

identifying a product from the image displayed on the display device based on the product database.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the user input that matches the gesture is made over the image on the display device.

16. The method of claim 12,

wherein a plurality of products are identified, and

wherein the method further comprises:

presenting a list of the plurality of products to the user; and

receiving a user input selecting products to be purchased from the list of products.

17. The method of claim 12,

wherein a plurality of merchants are identified, and

wherein the method further comprises:

presenting a list of the plurality of merchants to the user; and

receiving a user input selecting a merchant from the list of merchants.

18. The method of claim 11 further comprising:

receiving a request for setting up the gesture profile;

sending a gesture profile form to the user;

receiving the gesture profile from the user via the gesture profile form; and

designating the gesture that triggers a purchase transaction based on the gesture profile.

19. The method of claim 11, wherein the user input that matches the gesture is received via a touch screen.

20. The method of claim 11, wherein the user input that matches the gesture is received via a camera.
