Abstract

A pressure measuring system, including a tube system having at least one first device for measuring pressure in a fluid. The at least one first device includes a coupling element, at least one pressure transducer and at least one measuring chamber, which can be filled with a fluid. Between the first device and the feed of the fluid, the tube system has a second device for regulating a fluid flow, the second device having a tube section through which fluid can flow and at least one tube clamp, which can be set in the regulation positions open, closed and perfused.

Claims

1. Pressure-measuring system, with at least one measuring lumen which can be filled with a fluid, comprising:

at least one tube system for connecting a fluid reservoir to the at least one measuring lumen, and a mechanism for conveying the fluid through the at least one tube system, wherein the tube system includes at least one first device for measuring pressure in the fluid and having a coupling element, at least one pressure transducer and at least one measuring chamber which can be filled with fluid, wherein the coupling element mechanically connects the measuring chamber via a membrane with the measuring area of the pressure transducer and the measuring chamber has at least two connection points for a fluid flow,

between the first device and the supply of the fluid, the tube system has a second device for regulating fluid flow with a tube section through which fluid can flow and has a least one tube clamp, and

the second device can be set to the regulation positions open, closed and perfused, wherein in the closed position the lumen of the tube section is completely closed and in the perfused position, through a spacer in the inside of the tube section the lumen is at least slightly open.

Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1, wherein the coupling element has a clamping edge which preferably has at least one rotatably borne pressing roller that can be connected to the coupling device and that the at least one measuring chamber has two webs arranged opposite each other, wherein one of the webs engages in a clamping edge and the other web into the pressing roller.

3. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 2, wherein the pressing roller is capable of being moved manually or by means of a motor and held in corresponding positions.

Pressure measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the tube clamp has a basic housing with an accommodating area for the tube section and a clamping element that can be moved between at least two regulation positions and the clamping element in interaction with sections of the accommodating area as pressing points in at least one regulation position acts on the tube section and its lumen and that in the area of at least one regulation position the spacer is arranged in the lumen of the tube section.

Pressure-measuring system according to claim 4, wherein the clamping element is arranged in a rotating manner and extends radially around the centre of rotation and, more particularly, the section of the clamping element closest to the centre of rotation interacts with at least one pressing point.

6. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 5, wherein the clamping element is moved by means of a motor between the regulation positions and is held in each of the regulation positions.

7. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the tube section is made of a flexible material and is squeezable in sections.

8. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein tube section has a lumen which is preferably between 0.2 mm and 10 mm.

Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein at least one of (i) the spacer is an integral component of a tube section and in particular in this section irregularly reduces the lumen of the tube and (ii) the spacer is formed by an elongated, more particularly thread-like or rod-like element, that irregularly reduces the lumen of the tube.

10. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the reduction of the lumen by the spacer is between 0.01% to 5%, thereby in the perfused setting the lumen of the tube section is kept slight open so that a volumetric flow of the fluid of between 0.1 ml/min and 8 ml/min is provided.

11. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the connection points are arranged at an angle (α

) with regard to each other of between 180° and

60°

12. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 11, wherein the connection points are arranged at an angle (β

) of between 0° and

60°

with regard to the base area of the measurement chamber.

13. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the interior of the measuring chamber has an essentially circular base area.

14. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 13, wherein at least one of (i) the base area is open and the membrane covers the open base area and (ii) the membrane is made of a material selected from a group that contains silicone, latex, rubber, and combinations thereof.

15. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein at least one of (i) the pressure transducer is an electromechanical pressure transducer and (ii) the measuring range of the pressure transducer is arranged centrically in relation to the base area of the measurement chamber.

16. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the interior space of the measuring chamber is dome-shaped and/or the dome-shaped interior space is flattened in the central area.

17. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the fluid is selected from a group which includes water, aqueous solutions, solutions for injection, solutions for infusion, nutritional solutions, electrolyte solutions, blood, plasma, gas, air, and combinations thereof.

18. Pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the tube clamp, the coupling element, and the measuring chamber are at least in sections made of a material selected from a group which includes duroplastic or thermoplastic synthetic materials.

19. Pressure measuring system according to claim 1 wherein the device for conveying the fluid is a peristalsis pump, a displacement pump, or a gravity pump.

20. Method for the automatic filling and zeroing of the pressure-measuring system according to claim 1 wherein after positioning a measuring lumen with the stages:

Measuring the rest pressure on the pressure transducer with the tube system and measuring lumen filled with air;

Setting at least one tube clamp into the regulation setting closed,

Setting of at least one tube clamp into the regulation setting open and filling the tube system and the measuring lumen with fluid from a fluid reservoir;

Setting of at least one tube clamp into the regulation setting closed and correction of the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the height difference between at least one of (i) the pressure transducer and the measuring chamber and (ii) the measuring lumen and the measuring location by comparison with the previously determined rest pressure; and

Setting of at least one tube clamp (24) into the perfused regulation position.

21. Method according to claim 20, wherein the measured rest pressure is transmitted to a control device and from several measurements a mean rest pressure is determined.

22. Method according to claim 21, wherein the correction of the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the height difference between the measuring chamber and the pressure transducer sensor takes place through comparison with the mean rest pressure.

23. Method according to claim 20 wherein the quantity of fluid used to for filling essentially corresponds to the volume of the tube system and the measuring volume and/or the infusion volume.

24. Method according to claim 23, wherein the filling process is automatically ended when a quantity that corresponds to the volume of the tube system and the measuring volume has been pumped out of the fluid reservoir into the tube system and the measuring lumen.

25. Method according to claim 23 wherein the quantity of fluid pumped into the tube system and the measuring lumen and/or the infusion volume is determined by revolutions of the roller wheel of the pump and/or via a volume transducer.

26. Method according to claim 20 wherein before filling of the tube system and the measuring lumen, the tube clamp is automatically set to the open regulation position and after filling is set back into the closed regulation position.

27. Method according to claim 20 wherein the individual processing stages are repeated if several pressure-measuring systems are used.

28. Method according to claim 20 wherein the individual processing stages are carried out automatically after the start of the process.

30. A method of utilizing a pressure-measuring system, comprising:

selecting a pressure-measuring system according to claim 1; and

utilizing the pressure-measuring system in the field of urodynamics and gastroenterology.
