Adaptive Data Recovery
First Claim
1. A method for adaptive data recovery (ADR) from a received orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, produced by a circuit for an original data coding converting transmitted data symbols into a transmitted OFDM signal and a transmission system transforming the transmitted OFDM signal into the received OFDM signal wherein the transformation introduces distortions and noise to the received OFDM signal, by an adaptive data decoding of the transmitted data symbols from intervals of tone signals of the received OFDM signal wherein the intervals of the tone signals correspond to cycles or half-cycles of the tone signals;
- wherein the ADR method comprises the steps of;
defining distinctive sets of the intervals of the tone signals wherein each of the distinctive sets comprises the intervals of the tone signals representing a one of the transmitted data symbols;
defining the adaptive data decoding by specifying the transmitted data symbols corresponding to the distinctive sets, in order to enable a reversal of both the original data coding and the transformation of the transmitted OFDM signal into the received OFDM signal without compensating effects of the distortions or the noise on the tone signals;
producing, using a received signal processor, the intervals of the tone signals from the received OFDM signal;
applying the adaptive data decoding to the produced intervals of the tone signals by identifying the distinctive sets of the intervals of the tone signals which the produced intervals of the tone signals belong to and recovering the transmitted data symbols which have been specified as corresponding to the identified distinctive sets.

Abstract
This application presents an adaptive data recovery (ADR) of original data symbols from intervals or parameters of tone signals derived from a received OFDM signal, conducted without compensating distortions or noise introduced to the received OFDM signal by an OFDM transmission channel. Such ADR is implemented by converting back the derived intervals or parameters into original data symbols corresponding to distinctive sets of the intervals or parameters which the derived intervals or parameters belong to.
