Abstract

A projection-type image display device includes a first housing and a second housing. The first housing houses a light source unit configured to emit light, an image generating unit configured to modulate the light from the light source unit according to a video input signal to generate image light, and a projecting unit configured to project the image light generated by the image generating unit. The second housing includes an output unit configured to output a light signal and/or an input unit configured to input a light signal which are/is exposed and arranged on a surface of the second housing.

Claims

1. A projection-type image display device comprising:

a first housing that houses a light source unit configured to emit light, an image generating unit configured to modulate the light from the light source unit according to a video input signal to generate image light, and a projecting unit configured to project the image light generated by the image generating unit; and

a second housing that includes an output unit configured to output a light signal and/or an input unit configured to input a light signal which are/is exposed and arranged on a surface of the second housing.

2. A projection-type image display device comprising:

a first housing that houses a light source unit configured to emit light, an image generating unit configured to modulate the light from the light source unit according to a video input signal to generate image light, and a projecting unit configured to project the image light generated by the image generating unit; and

a second housing that includes a receiving unit configured to receive a signal indicative of an instruction by a user.

3. The projection-type image display device according to claim 2, further comprising:

an informing unit configures to inform the user of an internal state of the projection-type image display device.

4. The projection-type image display device according to claim 3, wherein

the informing unit is arranged on an area across a bottom surface and another surface adjoining the bottom surface of the second housing.

5. The projection-type image display device of claim 2, wherein the first housing and/or the second housing further is provided with a terminal for sending and/or receiving electric power, a video signal and/or an audio signal.

6. The projection-type image display device according to claim 2, wherein the second housing has, on its lateral surface, an opening for exhaust.

7. The projection-type image display device of according to claim 2, wherein the second housing houses a power-supply unit configured to supply electric power to the light source unit and the image generating unit.

8. A projection-type image display device comprising:

a first housing that houses a light source unit configured to emit light, an image generating unit configured to modulate the light from the light source unit according to a video input signal to generate image light, and a projecting unit configured to project the image light generated by the image generating unit; and

a second housing that includes an informing unit configured to inform a user of an internal state of the projection-type image display device.

9. The projection-type image display device according to claim 8, wherein the informing unit is arranged over a bottom surface and another surface adjoining the bottom surface, of the second housing.

10. The projection-type image display device according to claim 8, wherein the first housing and/or the second housing further includes a terminal for sending and/or receiving electric power, a video signal and/or an audio signal.

11. The projection-type image display device according to claim 8, wherein the second housing has, in its lateral surface, an opening for exhaust.

12. The projection-type image display device according to claim 8, wherein the second housing houses a power-supply unit configured to supply electric power to the light source unit and the image generating unit.
