Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatus for supporting uplink Transmission Time Interval (TTI) bundling in Long Term Evolution (LTE) are provided. Methods, systems, and apparatus for signaling, activation/deactivation, and wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) behavior are also provided.

Claims

1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the WTRU comprising:

a memory, and;

a processor, the processor being configured to;

receive, via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), a transmission time interval (TTI) bundling message that enables the WTRU to support uplink TTI bundling, the TTI bundling message including a TTI bundling active/de-activate field and a TTI bundling configuration;

determine a hybrid acknowledgement repeat request (HARQ) process state;

determine an TTI bundling procedure using the TTI bundling message and the HARQ process state; and

send a transmission via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using the TTI bundling procedure.

2. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the TTI bundling message further includes at least a value for a number of bundled sub-frames, a number of TTIs in a bundle, or a maximum number of HARQ re-transmission.

3. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the TTI bundling message uses a bit-field in a radio block (RB) allocation field, a bit-field in a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) field, or a bit-field in a demodulation reference symbol (DMRS) field.

4. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to send the transmission via the PUSCH using the TTI bundling procedure by using a radio block (RB) allocation and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS).

5. The WTRU of claim 4, wherein the processor is further configured to receive the RB allocation via a MCS field.

6. The WTRU of claim 4, wherein the processor is further configured to receive the RB allocation via a demodulation reference symbol (DMRS) field.

7. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the TTI bundling message is in a downlink control information (DCI) format 0.

8. The WTRU of claim 7, wherein the TTI bundling message is of a length equivalent to a PDCCH format 1A.

9. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the TTI bundling message indicates a condition that should trigger TTI bundling.

10. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the TTI bundling message indicates that TTI bundling is activated for semi-persistent scheduling.

11. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the WTRU comprising:

a memory, and;

a processor, the processor being configured to;

receive, via a machine access control (MAC) control element (CE), a TTI bundling message that enables the WTRU to support uplink TTI bundling, the TTI bundling message including a TTI bundling active/de-activate field and a TTI bundling configuration;

determine a hybrid acknowledgement repeat request (HARQ) process state;

determine an TTI bundling procedure using the TTI bundling message and the HARQ process state; and

send a transmission via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using the TTI bundling procedure.

12. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the TTI bundling message further includes at least a value for a number of bundled sub-frames, a number of TTIs in a bundle, or a maximum number of HARQ re-transmission.

13. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the TTI bundling message uses a bit-field in a radio block (RB) allocation field, a bit-field in a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) field, or a bit-field in a demodulation reference symbol (DMRS) field.

14. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the processor is configured to send the transmission via the PUSCH using the TTI bundling procedure by using a radio block (RB) allocation and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS).

15. The WTRU of claim 14, wherein the processor is further configured to receive the RB allocation via a MCS field.

16. The WTRU of claim 14, wherein the processor is further configured to receive the RB allocation via a demodulation reference symbol (DMRS) field.

17. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the TTI bundling message is in a downlink control information (DCI) format 0.

18. The WTRU of claim 17, wherein the TTI bundling message is of a length equivalent to a PDCCH format 1A.

19. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the TTI bundling message indicates a condition that should trigger TTI bundling.

20. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the TTI bundling message indicates that TTI bundling is activated for semi-persistent scheduling.
