- receiving, by a software defined topology (SDT) controller from a first virtual gateway of a plurality of virtual gateways in a data plane, a report;
updating customer specific service parameters in accordance with the report; and
updating a data plane logical topology of the data plane in accordance with the report, wherein updating the data plane logical topology comprises at least one of adding a virtual gateway to the plurality of virtual gateways, removing a virtual gateway of the plurality of virtual gateways, modifying a capacity of a virtual gateway of the plurality of virtual gateways, and modifying a location of a virtual gateway of the plurality of virtual gateways, to produce an updated data plane logical topology.
