Abstract

The present invention is directed to a camera system. A system may include at least one camera, at least one storage device communicatively coupled and local to the at least one camera, and a modem communicatively coupled to the at least one storage device. The system may further include a server coupled to the modem and an application program. The application program may be configured to periodically download an image from the at least one camera, enable one or more downloaded images being associated with a known time period to be displayed at an electronic device, and enable video based on a selected downloaded image to be displayed at the electronic device.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

at least one camera;

at least one storage device communicatively coupled and local to the at least one camera;

a modem communicatively coupled to at least one of the at least one storage device and the at least one camera; and

a server coupled to the modem and including an application program configured to;

periodically download an image from the at least one camera;

enable one or more downloaded images being associated with a known time period to be displayed at an electronic device; and

enable video based on a selected downloaded image to be displayed at the electronic device.

2. The system of claim 1, the application program configured to periodically download the image to the server comprising a cloud server.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein a portion of the application program is on at least one of the server, the electronic device, and the at least one camera.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the application program is configured to enable the electronic device to download the video.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the application program is further configured to combine two or more video clips to generate the video.

6. The system of claim 1, the at least one storage device comprising at least one of flash media, a USB hard drive, and a network-attached storage device.

7. The system of claim 1, the application program further configured to generate an internet standard video clip.

8. The system of claim 1, the server comprising a cloud server coupled, via at least one of a wired connection and a wireless connection, to the electronic device and the at least one storage device and including at least a portion of the application program.

9. The system of claim 1, the application program further configured to enable a user, at the electronic device, to select a downloaded image based on a specific date and time.

10. A method, comprising:

capturing at least one video clip and at least one image with at least one camera at a camera location;

periodically downloading one or more images of the at least one image to a remote server; and

enabling video including the at least one video clip and being associated with at least one selected image of the at least one image to be displayed at an electronic device remote from the at least one camera and the server.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein periodically downloading one or more of the at least one image to a remote electronic device comprises periodically downloading one or more of the at least one image to a cloud server.

12. The method of claim 10, further comprising combining one or more video clips of the at least one video clip to generate the video.

13. The method of claim 10, further comprising displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) including a calendar, at least one slider for selecting a time period, and the at least one image associated with a selected time period.

14. The method of claim 10, further comprising identifying one or more video clips associated with the at least one selected image.

15. The method of claim 10, further comprising downloading one or more video clips of the at least one video clip to the remote server.

16. The method of claim 10, wherein enabling comprises causing the video to be accessible in the cloud.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to perform instructions, the instructions comprising:

periodically downloading one or more images captured by at least one camera at a camera location to a remote server;

retrieving video captured by the camera and stored at the camera location and associated with at least one selected image of the one or more images; and

providing an alert indicating that the retrieved video is available for at least one of viewing and downloading.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17, the instructions further comprising recording the video with a local storage device at the camera location and communicatively coupled to the at least one camera.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17, the instructions further comprising merging two or more video clips to generate the video.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17, the instructions further comprising conveying the retrieved video to an electronic device remote from the at least one camera and the server.
