Abstract

A method includes receiving an instruction used to define a widget-container containing a service module associated with a widget. The widget-container is a procedural software framework configured to be executed at a widget-container processing device in response to a reference to the widget-container being accessed from a content aggregation point. The widget-container has a portion configured for receiving the widget. The method also includes determining whether processing of the widget within the portion of the widget-container is restricted and/or allowed.

Claims

2. A method, comprising:

identifying a widget-container requested to be processed at a widget-container processing device based on a reference to the widget-container being accessed from a web-page at the widget-container processing device;

determining, in response to the identifying, that processing of a portion of the widget-container is restricted based on a parameter associated with the portion of the widget-container;

removing, based on the determining, the portion of the widget-container from the widget-container to produce a modified widget-container; and

processing the modified widget-container at the widget-container processing device.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the determining that processing of the widget-container is restricted is based on an identifier associated with the web-page.

4. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

receiving the widget-container from a widget-container host device.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the portion of the widget-container is a reference to a widget associated with the widget-container.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the processing the modified widget-container includes processing a widget within the modified widget-container.

7. A non-transitory processor-readable medium storing code representing instructions to be executed by a processor, the code comprising code to cause the processor to:

receive a widget-container to be processed at a widget-container processing device based on a reference to the widget-container being accessed from a web-page at the widget-container processing device;

determine, in response to the receiving, that processing of a portion of the widget-container is restricted;

modify, based on the determining, the widget-container to produce a modified widget-container; and

process the modified widget-container at the widget-container processing device such that a widget associated with the widget-container is executed within the widget-container at the web-page.

8. The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the code to cause the processor to determine includes code to cause the processor to determine that processing of the portion of the widget-container is restricted based on an identifier associated with the web-page.

9. The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the code to cause the processor to receive includes code to cause the processor to receive the widget-container from a widget-container host device.

10. The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the code to cause the processor to modify includes code to cause the processor to remove the portion of the widget-container from the widget-container.

11. The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the widget is at least one of a static data object, a media object or a software object.

12. The non-transitory processor-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the code to cause the processor to modify includes code to cause the processor to modify the widget to be placed within the widget-container to produce the modified widget-container.

13. An apparatus, comprising:

a widget-container processing device including a memory and a processor, the widget-container processing device configured to receive a widget-container associated with a widget, the widget-container processing device configured to identify at least one parameter associated with processing a portion of the widget-container at the widget-container processing device, the widget-container processing device configured to modify the widget-container based on the at least one parameter to produce a modified widget-container, the widget-container processing device configured to process the modified widget-container.

14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the at least one parameter is based on a control determination associated with the widget-container.

15. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the widget-container processing device is configured to receive the at least one parameter from a widget-container host device.

16. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the at least one parameter is associated with a web-page including a reference to the widget-container.

17. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the widget-container processing device is configured to stop processing the portion of the widget-container based on the at least one parameter.

18. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the widget-container processing device is configured to receive the widget-container from a widget-container host device.

19. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the modified widget-container is configured to process the widget when the widget-container processing device processes the modified widget-container.

20. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the widget-container processing device is configured to modify the widget-container by removing the portion of the widget-container from the widget-container.

21. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the portion of the widget-container is a reference to the widget.

22. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the widget-container processing device is configured to modify the widget associated with the widget-container to produce the modified widget-container.
