Abstract

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a first group of light emitting diode (LED) structures, a second group of LED structures, and a connection port is provided. The substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The first group of LED structures is disposed on one side of the first surface. The second group of LED structures is disposed on another side of the first surface opposite to the first group of LED structures. The connection portion includes at least an opening, and a first connection pad and a second connection pad electrically coupled to at least a part of the LED structures. The connection port is adapted to be coupled to other device through the opening. A light emitting module and an illuminating apparatus are also provided.

Claims

1. A light emitting device, comprising:

a substrate, having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface;

a first group of light emitting diode (LED) structures, disposed on one side of the first surface;

a second group of LED structures, disposed on another side of the first surface opposite to the first group of LED structures; and

a connection port comprising an opening, and a first connection pad and a second connection pad electrically coupled to at least a part of the LED structures, wherein the opening exposes the connection pads, and the connection port is adapted to couple to other device through the opening;

wherein at least a part of light emitted from at least one of the first group and the second group of LED structures passes through the substrate and emerges from the second surface of the substrate.

2. The light emitting device according to claim 1, wherein the connection port is disposed on the first surface of the substrate and between the first group of LED structures and the second group of LED structures.

The light emitting device according to claim 1, wherein the connection port is disposed on the second surface of the substrate, and the connection port further comprises conductive vias penetrating the substrate such that the first and second connection pads may electrically connect to at least a part of the LED structures.

4. The light emitting device according to claim 1, wherein the first connection pad is electrically connected to an electrode of the first group of LED structures, and the second connection pad is electrically connected to an electrode of the second group of LED structures.

The light emitting device according to claim 4, wherein the connection port further comprises a common connection pad disposed on the substrate and respectively electrically connected to another electrodes of the first group and the second group of LED structures, which means the electrodes electrically connected with the common connection pad are different from the electrodes respectively electrically connected with the first connection pad and the second connection pad.

6. The light emitting device according to claim 4, wherein the electrical property of the first connection pad is different from the electrical property of the second connection pad.

7. The light emitting device according to claim 4, wherein the electrical property of the first connection pad is the same as the electrical property of the second connection pad.

8. The light emitting device according to claim 1, further comprising a wavelength conversion layer, disposed on the substrate for receiving at least a part of light emitted from the LED structures, the wavelength conversion layer exposing the connection port to form the opening.

9. The light emitting device according to claim 8, wherein a thickness of the wavelength conversion layer is greater than 30 μ

m.

10. The light emitting device according to claim 8, wherein the wavelength conversion layer is disposed on at least a part of the first surface of the substrate and covers the first and second groups of LED structures.

The light emitting device according to claim 10, wherein a part of the wavelength conversion layer which covers the first group of LED structures and another part of the wavelength conversion layer which covers the second group of LED structures respectively comprise different phosphor compositions.

12. The light emitting device according to claim 8, wherein the wavelength conversion layer is disposed on at least a part of the second surface of the substrate.

13. The light emitting device according to claim 1, wherein the lighting effect induced by the first group of LED structures is different from the lighting effect induced by the second group of LED structures.

14. A light emitting module, comprising:

a light emitting device according to claim 1; and

a connection device, comprising a bonding surface, wherein the light emitting device is engaged with the connection device through the opening of the connection port of the light emitting device, and the connection pads of the connection port are bonded on the bonding surface of the connection device.

The light emitting module according to claim 14, wherein the quantity of the light emitting device is more than one, and the connection device comprises a plurality of segments having bonding surfaces to engage with the light emitting devices, respectively, such that the light emitting devices are engaged with the connection device as a plurality of crosses, and an angle is formed between each light emitting device and the connection device.

16. The light emitting module according to claim 15, wherein at least a part of the light emitting devices extend along the same direction corresponding to the connection device.

17. The light emitting module according to claim 15, wherein at least a part of the light emitting devices extend along different directions corresponding to the connection device.

18. The light emitting module according to claim 15, wherein the connection device is formed as a ring by connecting the segments end to end.

19. An illuminating apparatus, comprising:

a lamp holder;

a light emitting device according to claim 1, disposed on the lamp holder; and

a lamp cap, disposed on the lamp holder, the lamp cap and the lamp holder defining an accommodating space, wherein the light emitting device is disposed in the accommodating space.

20. An illuminating apparatus, comprising:

a lamp holder;

a light emitting module according to claim 14, disposed on the lamp holder; and

a lamp cap, disposed on the lamp holder, the lamp cap and the lamp holder defining an accommodating space, wherein the light emitting module is disposed in the accommodating space.
