Abstract

The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented systems and methods for transmitting and receiving audio and video data. A method may include receiving, by a device including one or more processors and a radio transceiver, an indication that the device is a master device. The method may also include determining that the master device is located outside of a vehicle. Furthermore, the method may include identifying, based on determining that the master device is located outside of the vehicle, a client device. Additionally, the method may include transmitting a signal, to the client device, to indicate a peer-to-peer connection in a communication channel is enabled.

Claims

1. A device for wireless communication, comprising:

a radio transceiver;

at least one processor; and

at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions, that when executed by the at least one processor, causes that at least one processor to;

determine that the device is a master device;

determine that the master device is located outside of a vehicle;

identify, based on determining that the master device is located outside of the vehicle, one or more client devices; and

transmit a signal, by the radio transceiver to the one or more client devices, indicating that peer-to-peer communication in a communication channel is enabled.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the short-range communication master device is located outside of the vehicle further comprises instructions to:

determine that the short-range communication master device is operating on alternating current (A/C) power.

3. The device of claim 1, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the short-range communication master device is located outside of the vehicle further comprises instructions to:

determine, based at least in part on location information, that the short-range communication master device is located in a stationary environment.

4. The device of claim 1, further comprising computer-executable instructions to:

determine that the short-range communication master device is located within a mobile environment; and

disable, based on determining that the short-range communication master device located within a mobile environment, peer-to-peer communication in the short-range communication channel;

5. The device of claim 4, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the short-range communication master device is located within a mobile environment further comprises instructions to:

determine that the short-range communication master device is operating on battery power.

6. The device of claim 4, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the short-range communication master device is located within a mobile environment further comprises instructions to:

determine, based at least in part on location information, that the short-range communication master device is moving.

7. The device of claim 1, wherein the signal comprises a connection request for communication with the one or more short-range communication client devices in the short-range communication channel.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the communication channel is a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) channel.

9. A method for wireless communication, comprising:

determining, by a device comprising one or more processors and a radio transceiver, that the device is a master device;

determining that the master device is located outside of a vehicle;

identifying, based on determining that the master device is located outside of the vehicle, one or more client devices; and

transmitting, by the radio transceiver to the one or more client devices, a signal indicating that peer-to-peer communication in a communication channel is enabled.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein determining that the master device is outside the vehicle further comprises:

determining that the master device is operating on alternating current (A/C) power.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein determining that the master device is outside the vehicle further comprises:

determining, based at least in part on location information, that the master device is located within a stationary environment.

12. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

determining that the master device is located within a mobile environment; and

disabling, based on determining that the master device located within a mobile environment, peer-to-peer communication in the communication channel.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein determining that the master device is located within a mobile environment further comprises:

determining that the master device is operating on battery power.

14. The method of claim 12, wherein determining that the master device is located within a mobile environment further comprises:

determining, based at least in part on location information, that the master device is moving.

15. The method of claim 9, wherein the signal comprises a connection request for communication with the one or more client devices in the communication channel.

16. The method of claim 9, wherein the communication channel is a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) channel.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions, that when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

receive an indication that a device is a master device;

determine that the master device is located outside of a vehicle;

identify, based on determining that the master device is located outside of the vehicle, one or more client devices; and

transmit, to the client device, a signal indicating that peer-to-peer communication in a communication channel is enabled.

18. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the master device is located outside of the vehicle further comprises instructions to:

determine that the master device is operating on alternating current (A/C) power.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the master device is located outside of the vehicle further comprises instructions to:

determine, based at least in part on location information, that the master device is located within a stationary environment.

20. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, further comprising computer-executable instructions to:

determine that the master device is located within a mobile environment; and

disable, based on determining that the master device is located within a mobile environment, peer-to-peer communication in the communication channel;

21. The computer-readable medium of claim 20, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the master device is located within a mobile environment further comprises instructions to:

determine that the master device is operating on battery power.

22. The computer-readable medium of claim 20, wherein the computer-executable instructions to determine that the master device is located within a mobile environment further comprises instructions to:

determine, based at least in part on location information, that the master device is moving.

23. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, wherein the signal comprises a connection request for communication with the one or more client devices in the channel is enabled.

24. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, wherein the channel is a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) channel.

25. A client device, comprising:

a radio transceiver;

at least one processor; and

at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions, that when executed by the at least one processor, causes that at least one processor to;

receive, an indication that client device is configured as a client device;

receive, from a master device, a signal;

determine, based at least in part on the signal, that communication in a communication channel is enabled; and

establish a connection with the master device in the communication channel.

26. The client device of claim 25, wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the at least one processor to:

establish a second connection with a second client device in the communication channel.

27. The client device of claim 26, wherein the second client device has received, from the master device, an indication that communication in the communication channel is enabled.
