METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING HANDOVER PROCEDURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
First Claim
1. A method for performing, by a first eNodeB (eNB) of a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) system, a handover procedure in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving information on an access point (AP) of a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, which is located at neighborhood of a second eNB, to which data of the first eNB can be offloaded;
deciding whether to handover a user equipment (UE) to the second eNB based on the received information on the AP; and
upon deciding to handover the UE to the second eNB, transmitting a handover request message to the second eNB.

Abstract
A method for performing a handover procedure in a wireless communication system is provided. A first eNodeB (eNB) of a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) system receives information on an access point (AP) of a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, which is located at neighborhood of a second eNB, to which data of the first eNB can be offloaded, from a user equipment (UE) or a second eNB, and decides whether to handover the UE to the second eNB based on the received information on the AP.

14. A first eNodeB (eNB) of a 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) system in a wireless communication system, the first eNB comprising:
-
a radio frequency (RF) unit for transmitting or receiving a radio signal; and a processor coupled to the RF unit, and configured to; receive information on an access point (AP) of a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, which is located at neighborhood of a second eNB, to which data of the first eNB can be offloaded; decide whether to handover a user equipment (UE) to the second eNB based on the received information on the AP; and upon deciding to handover the UE to the second eNB, transmit a handover request message to the second eNB.
