Abstract

Exemplary embodiments may be used as a Push-User Interface (UI) for electronic devices, such as smartphones and tablets and other similar devices, including personal computers, watches, etc. The system may be used with a remote device having a wireless communication interface such that a unique UI is pushed from the remote device to the electronic device to create a user interface experience specific to the remote device on the electronic device.

Claims

1. A system to provide a unique user interface associated with a specific remote device to a user on a mobile device, comprising:

a host application configured to be downloaded and stored on the mobile device where the mobile device comprises a processor for executing the host application, an input or output device for providing the unique user interface as interpreted by the host application, and a wireless communication interface for receiving information from a plurality of remote devices; and

one or more remote devices, the one or more remote devices each comprising a wireless communication interface and memory, the memory of each remote device having stored therein non-transient machine readable executable instructions corresponding to the unique user interface associated with the remote device configured to be executed by the host application.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the mobile device receives non-transient machine readable executable instructions from one of the one or more remote devices when the mobile device is within a specified range of the one of the one or more remote devices.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the host application executes the non-transient machine readable executable instructions so that the mobile device displays a unique user interface on the display associated with the one of the one or more remote devices.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the system is configured to no longer display the unique user interface on the display of the mobile device when the mobile device is outside of the specified range of one of the one or more remote devices.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the system comprises a plurality of remote devices and the system is configured to display a second unique user interface on the display of the mobile device associated with a second of the plurality of remote devices according to information received from the second of the plurality of remote devices.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the unique user interface is configured to permit the user to input information, and the host application is configured to send the information to the one of the one or more remote devices.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the host application is configured to render the user interface by referencing a single point of reference.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein the host application interprets data objects or commands to correspond to user interface items positioned in relation to the single point of reference.

9. A system capable of creating a unique user interfaces associated with individual ones of a plurality of remote devices, the system comprising a single host application run on an electronic device configured to receive information from the individual ones of the plurality of remote devices and interpret the information received from the individual ones of the plurality of remote devices and create associated unique user interfaces according to the information received.

The system of claim 9, wherein the system is configured to receive configuration instructions at the host application, wherein the configuration instructions are used with the information received from the individual ones of the plurality of remote devices to create the associated unique user interfaces.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the host application is configured to present on a display a selection of the plurality of remote devices available for display.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the unique user interfaces comprise sound to be heard through a speaker, images to be seen on a display, textual to be felt through an intermediate device, and combinations thereof.

13. A method to provide a unique user interface to a user on a display of a mobile device associated with a remote device, comprising:

downloading a host application onto the mobile device, wherein the mobile device has a wireless communication interface for receiving information from a plurality of remote devices;

moving the mobile device into proximity of a remote device comprising memory for storing executable code to be run on the mobile device through the host application, and a wireless communication interface to send the stored executable code to the mobile device;

sending the executable code from the remote device to the mobile device; and

executing the executable code to display a unique user interface to the user on the mobile device.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising detecting the presence of one or more remote devices with the mobile device and displaying an option to access the executable code from a list of available devices.

15. The method of claim 14, further comprising updating the list of available devices and ordering the list of available devices based on proximity of the mobile device to a respective remote device.

16. The method of claim 14, further comprising selecting a specific remote device and executing the executable code of the specific remote device to display the unique user interface to the user on the mobile device associated with the specific remote device.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising removing the unique user interface from the display once the mobile device is outside of range of the specific remote device.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising displaying a second unique user interface associated with a second remote device once the mobile device is in range with the second remote device, wherein the second unique user interface is associated with the second remote device and is unique from the unique user interface of the specific remote device.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising selecting and storing information associated with any one of the specific remote device or second remote device for later viewing.

20. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

creating a network of a plurality of remote devices wherein the plurality of remote devices communicate with each other to determine a mapped location of adjacent remote devices;

graphically displaying the plurality of remote devices on the mobile device; and

permitting a user to select a given remote device from the graphical display of the plurality of remote devices.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein the graphical display of the plurality of remote devices includes summary information of individual respective remote devices such that the user may select a desired remote device.

22. The method of claim 20, wherein the graphical display includes an indication of a present location of the user on the graphical display with respect to a map of remote devices such that the user may navigate to a physical location associated with a desired remote device.

23. The method of claim 20, wherein the graphical display of the plurality of remote devices comprises a list, a grid, a map, and combinations thereof, wherein the graphical display is configured to be searched, filtered, or sorted to find specific remote devices of interest.

24. The method of claim 23, wherein the user may select a user interface to display associated with a specific remote device by bringing the mobile device within a threshold proximity of the specific remote device remote device;

performing a combination of movements of the mobile device while the mobile devices is within a distance of the specific remote device;

or touching the mobile device to the specific remote device.
