Abstract

A portable terminal transmits a print job to a print apparatus, by connecting to an access point based on connection information acquired from an NFC tag. On completion of the transmission of the print job, the portable terminal deletes the connection information acquired from the NFC tag, from a memory, so that the connection information acquired from the NFC tag is not displayed in a connection history.

Claims

1. An information processing apparatus comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to execute wireless communication by connecting to an access point;

a storage unit configured to store access point information about the access point;

a display unit configured to display a connection history of connection to access point, based on information stored by the storage unit;

an acquisition unit configured to acquire access point information by using proximity wireless communication; and

a control unit configured to perform, when the acquisition unit acquires access point information by using the proximity wireless communication, control not to display an access point indicated by the acquired access point information, in the connection history.

2. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the storage unit stores the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit,

wherein the wireless communication unit transmits a print job to a print apparatus, by connecting to the access point indicated by the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit, and

wherein the control unit performs, when transmission of the print job is completed, control not to display the access point indicated by the acquired access point information, in the connection history, by deleting, from the storage unit, the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit.

3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising a determination unit configured to determine whether the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit is access point information including a SSID generated at random,

wherein in the case that the determination unit determines that the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit is access point information including a SSID generated at random, and the transmission of the print job is completed, the control unit is configured to delete, from the storage unit, the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 3, wherein when a SSID includes a predetermined character string, the determination unit is configured to determine that the access point information acquired by the acquisition unit is access point information including a SSID generated at random.

5. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the proximity wireless communication is NFC, and

wherein the acquisition unit acquires access point information from an NFC tag by using the NFC.

6. A control method for an information processing apparatus that stores access point information about an access point into a memory, and displays a connection history of connection to access point based on information stored in the memory, the control method comprising:

connecting, in the case that the information processing apparatus acquires access point information by using proximity wireless communication, the information processing apparatus to an access point indicated by the acquired access point information; and

deleting the access point information from the memory, so as not to display the access point indicated by the access point information acquired by using the proximity wireless communication, in the connection history.

7. The control method for the information processing apparatus according to claim 6, further comprising transmitting a print job to a print apparatus,

wherein, on completion of the transmission of the print job, the access point information is deleted from the memory in the deleting.

8. The control method for the information processing apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising determining whether the access point information acquired by using the proximity wireless communication is access point information including a SSID generated at random,

wherein in the case that in the determining, it is determined that the access point information acquired by using the proximity wireless communication is access point information including a SSID generated at random, and the transmitting of the print job is completed, the access point information is deleted from the memory by the deleting.

The control method for the information processing apparatus according to claim 8, wherein when a SSID includes a predetermined character string, it is determined that the access point information acquired by using the proximity wireless communication is access point information including a SSID generated at random, in the determining.

10. The control method for the information processing apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the proximity wireless communication is NFC, and

wherein the information processing apparatus acquires access point information from an NFC tag by using the NFC.

11. A storage medium storing a program that causes a computer to execute the control method for the information processing apparatus according to claim 6.
