Abstract

An electronic apparatus and method of implementing a user interface according to a pressure intensity of a touch on the electronic apparatus, the method including detecting a position at which the touch is input, identifying the type of object displayed on the position, and detecting the pressure intensity. Accordingly, the user can manipulate electronic apparatuses with greater convenience.

Claims

1. An electronic device comprising:

a display;

a first sensor;

a second sensor, and

a processor configured to;

control the display to present a plurality of objects,

control the first sensor to detect a touch on one of the plurality of objects,

control the second sensor to detect a level regarding touch pressure, and

control the display, if the detected level regarding touch pressure on the touched object is greater than a threshold, to present a list of functions related to the touched object at a location associated with the touched object while the touched object is presented.

2. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the list of functions are provided in a pop-up window.

3. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the first sensor comprises a capacitance touch sensor.

4. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein another object from the plurality of objects is presented on the display while the touched object and the list of functions is presented on the display.

5. The electronic device of claim 4, wherein the touched object is presented to be distinguished visually from the other objects.

6. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the touched object comprises an icon.

7. The electronic device of claim 6, wherein the icon corresponds to an operation that is executed in response to selection of the icon.

8. The electronic device of claim 7, wherein, if the detected pressure of the touch is less than the threshold, the processor is further configured to execute the operation corresponding to the icon.

9. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the touched object comprises a menu, and wherein, if the detected pressure of the touch is greater than the threshold, the displayed list of functions includes a plurality of sub-menus.

10. A method of an electronic device, the method comprising:

presenting a plurality of objects on a display;

detecting a touch on one of the plurality of objects with a first sensor;

detecting a pressure of the touch with a second sensor; and

presenting, if the detected pressure of the touch is greater than a threshold, a list of functions related to the touched object at a location associated with the touched object while the touched object is displayed.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the presenting of the list of functions comprises displaying a pop-up window.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the first sensor comprises a capacitance touch sensor.

13. The method of claim 10, further comprising presenting another object from the plurality of objects on the display while the touched object and the list of functions are presented on the display.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising presenting the touched object to be distinguished visually from the other object.

15. The method of claim 10, wherein the touched object comprises an icon.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the icon corresponds to an operation that is executed in response to selection of the icon.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising, if the detected pressure of the touch is less than the threshold, executing the operation corresponding to the icon.

18. The method of claim 10, wherein the touched object comprises a menu, and wherein, if the detected pressure of the touch is greater than the threshold, the displaying of the list of functions includes displaying a plurality of sub-menus.

19. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause at least one processor to perform the operations of:

presenting a plurality of objects on a display;

detecting a touch on one of the plurality of objects with a first sensor;

detecting a pressure of the touch with a second sensor; and

presenting, if the detected pressure of the touch is greater than a threshold, a list of functions related to the touched object at a location associated with the touched object while the touched object is displayed.

20. The medium of claim 19, wherein the presenting of the list of functions comprises displaying a pop-up window.

21. The medium of claim 19, wherein the first sensor comprises a capacitance touch sensor.

22. The medium of claim 19, further comprising presenting another object from the plurality of objects on the display while the touched object and the list of functions are presented on the display.

23. The medium of claim 22, further comprising presenting the touched object to be distinguished visually from the other object.

24. The medium of claim 19, wherein the touched object comprises an icon.

25. The medium of claim 24, wherein the icon corresponds to an operation that is executed in response to selection of the icon.

26. The medium of claim 25, further comprising, if the detected pressure of the touch is less than the threshold, executing the operation corresponding to the icon.

27. The medium of claim 19, wherein the touched object comprises a menu, and wherein, if the detected pressure of the touch is greater than the threshold, the displaying of the list of functions includes displaying a plurality of sub-menus.
