1. A system, comprising:

  • a vibration sensor that detects vibrations from a transport vehicle;

    a detection component that receives first input values based on first readings of the vibration sensor, the detection component comparing the received first input values to a first threshold value and determining that the transport vehicle is in a first operating state when one or more received first input values are above the first threshold value and determining that the transport vehicle is in a second operating state when one or more received first input values are below the first threshold value; and

    an adaptive threshold component that identifies a second threshold value as a replacement for the first threshold value, the motion detection component comparing received second input values based on second readings of the vibration sensor to the second threshold value and determining that the transport vehicle is in the first operating state when one or more received second input values are above the second threshold value and determining that the transport vehicle is in the second operating state when one or more received second input values are below the second threshold value.
