AUTOSTEREOSCOPIC 3D DISPLAY DEVICE
First Claim
1. An autostereoscopic 3D display device, comprising:
- an image panel comprising a plurality of sub-pixels that collectively output light corresponding to a plurality of view images;
a 3D filter disposed on a surface of the image panel, the 3D filter forming the plurality of view images within a plurality of viewing zones by directing the outputted light of the plurality of sub-pixels to the plurality of viewing zones, wherein each of the plurality of viewing zones overlaps one or more other viewing zones, and each of the plurality of view images is formed in a corresponding one of the plurality of viewing zones; and
an intervening layer positioned between the image panel and the 3D filter, the intervening layer maintaining a gap between the image panel and the 3D filter;
wherein a width of each of the plurality of view zones is a proper fraction of an interocular distance, the interocular distance being a distance between an observer'"'"'s eyes.

Abstract
An autostereoscopic 3D display device according to embodiments of the present disclosure may be configured to set the width of a viewing diamond to a/n times (where a and n are natural numbers satisfying the condition: a<n) of the interocular distance while at the same time overlapping the viewing diamonds with each other. Furthermore, the same or similar input data between adjoining views may be newly mapped through a view data rendering process.
Accordingly, it may be possible to provide an effect of removing or minimizing 3D crosstalk, luminance difference, and image flipping in stereoscopic images, thereby enhancing the perceived depth of stereoscopic images.
