1. A method for operating a mobile computing device including a display, a power button, a radio, and one or more processors, the method performed by the one or more processors of the mobile computing device and comprising:
- when a telephone call is being received by the mobile computing device, silencing an indication of the telephone call, without turning off the mobile computing device, based on a user pressing the power button; and
when the telephone call is not being received by the mobile computing device, turning on a backlight of the display based on the user pressing a selected button of the mobile computing device.
