Abstract

An apparatus includes means for searching an object database using object identifiers of an object to identify a set of candidate objects. Each candidate object of the set of candidate objects matches at least one object identifier of the object identifiers. The apparatus includes means for receiving a selection of a first candidate object of the set of candidate objects from a first device. The apparatus includes means for receiving measurement data associated with a user. The apparatus also includes means for generating display data of an image representation in response to receiving a selection of the first candidate object. The image representation includes a representation generated based on the measurement data and includes an object overlay corresponding to the first object.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

means for searching an object database using object identifiers of an object to identify a set of candidate objects, wherein each candidate object of the set of candidate objects matches at least one object identifier of the object identifiers;

means for receiving a selection of a first candidate object of the set of candidate objects from a first device;

means for receiving measurement data associated with a user; and

means for generating display data of an image representation in response to receiving a selection of the first candidate object, wherein the image representation includes a representation generated based on the measurement data and an object overlay corresponding to the first candidate object.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising means for receiving an indication of interest from a display device configured to present media content, wherein the indication of interest identifies the object.

3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the media content comprises video content, and wherein the representation comprises a three-dimensional avatar.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising means for sending, to the first device, first data identifying the first candidate object, wherein the first candidate object corresponds to a first entry in the object database, and wherein the first entry includes a first subset of the object identifiers.

The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the first data further identifies a second candidate object of the set of candidate objects, wherein the second candidate object corresponds to a second entry in the object database, wherein the second entry includes a second subset of the object identifiers, and wherein the second subset is different from the first subset.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising means for sending the display data of the image representation to the first device.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the object overlay at least partially covers the representation.

8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the object overlay is sized to correspond to the representation.

9. A computer-readable storage device storing processor-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprises:

receiving an image that includes a depiction of an object;

determining an object identifier associated with the object;

searching an object database using the object identifier to identify a set of candidate objects;

receiving a selection of a first candidate object of the set of candidate objects;

receiving measurement data associated with a user; and

generating display data of an image representation that includes a representation generated based on the measurement data and an object overlay corresponding to the first candidate object.

10. The computer-readable storage device of claim 9, wherein the image corresponds to media content, and wherein the operations further include receiving an indicator from a display device configured to present the media content, the indicator identifying the object.

11. The computer-readable storage device of claim 10, wherein the media content comprises video content.

12. The computer-readable storage device of claim 10, wherein the object database is searched independent of any object-related metatag information within the media content.

13. The computer-readable storage device of claim 9, wherein the operations further comprise selecting, based on the measurement data, a size for the object overlay from a set of sizes.

14. The computer-readable storage device of claim 9, wherein the object overlay at least partially covers the representation.

15. The computer-readable storage device of claim 9, wherein the object identifier includes a model identifier, a color identifier, a shape identifier, a manufacturer identifier, or a combination thereof.

16. A method comprising:

determining, at a processor of a first device based on media content, an object identifier associated with an object in response to an indication of interest, wherein the object identifier is determined independent of object related metatag information in the media content;

searching an object database using the object identifier to identify a set of candidate objects;

receiving a selection of a first candidate object of the set of candidate objects from a second device;

receiving measurement data associated with a person; and

generating display data of an image representation in response to receiving a selection of the first candidate object, wherein the image representation includes a representation generated based on the measurement data and an object overlay corresponding to the first candidate object.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising receiving the indication of interest from a display device configured to present the media content, wherein the indication of interest identifies the object.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the object database is searched based on a timestamp associated with the media content, a channel associated with the media content, or both.

19. The method of claim 16, wherein the first device comprises a set top box and the second device comprises a display device.

20. The method of claim 16, wherein the first device comprises a server and the second device comprises a set top box or a television.
