Abstract

The system electronically publishes the current Federal Drug Administration, Department of Health, and Department of Agriculture regulatory status of competing compounding centers and agriculture aggregators along with the price and availability of custom route, dosage form, and strength specific compounded formularies and agriculture aggregates. Through this system, a highly specific request is submitted to compounding centers and agriculture aggregators by licensed professionals on behalf of purchasers desiring to ascertain regulatory status, availability and pricing through the electronic system. The published price includes the question of current status and exact request, but may vary based on excipients used, commodity availability, and level of effort used to create the custom formulary or aggregate. The system delivers the regulatory status and the price, including delivery, for up to 10 facilities in the form of a list. Once a purchaser has reviewed the responses, the purchaser, along with the licensed professional may choose to use one provider from the list, or request another compound or aggregate that meets the needs of the purchaser.

Claims

1. A method for Compounding Centers and/or Agriculture Aggregators to publish customized compound or agriculture aggregate formulary pricing and current regulatory status, the method comprising of steps of:

utilizing a processing unit, the process unit being programmed with a rules engine to carry out the method;

utilizing a database for storage and retrieval of information by the processing unit;

conveying from a licensed professional to a provider a customized route, dosage form, active ingredient(s), active ingredient(s) strength, formulary restrictions, address for delivery, and the date needed;

the provider then publishes the custom route, dosage form, active ingredient(s), active ingredient(s) strength along with any excipients, level of effort formulary price and current government regulatory status including program processing fees.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the route of administration is one of:

inhalation, irrigation, dental route, gastroenteral route, hemodialysis route, infusion route, injection route, intra-arterial route, intramuscular route, Intrathecal route, intravenous piggyback route, intravenous push route, intravenous route, nasal route, ophthalmic route, oral route, oromucosal route, otic route, per rectum (route), per Vagina, peritoneal dialysis route, subcutaneous route, sublingual route, topical route, or transdermal route.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the dosage form is one of:

cream, edibles, elixir, emulsion, enema, a liquid, lotion, lozenge, ointment, powder, resin, shampoo, solution, suppository, suspension, syrup, tea, tinctures, tobacco, tablet, troche, or vapor

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the formulary contains one or more the active ingredient.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the active ingredient any strength up to and including 100%

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the formulary restrictions are not conflicting.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the delivery date is agreed to

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the excipient include, but are not limited to antiadherents, binders, coatings, disintegrants, fillers, micro-dosing, flavors, colors, lubricants, glidants, sorbents, preservatives, or sweeteners.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the excipient is approved for use with humans and animals.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein level of effort does not exceed that which is considered normal and customary for formulary request

11. The method of claim 1, wherein government regulatory status is at least one of;

Federal Drug Administration, Department of Agriculture, Department of Health.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the provider publish a price for a custom compound or agriculture aggregate that includes formulary quote processing fees.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the electronic transfer is accomplished via an intranet, internet, or a combination of the two.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the complete customized request is transferred electronically to the provider.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the provider publishes all request electronically.
