1. A suppression system in a safety railcar, the suppression system comprising:

  • a source of pressure;

    at least one suppressor tank containing a suppression agent, each suppressor tank being connected to receive pressure from the source of pressure to pressurize the suppression agent;

    a controllable valve positioned to mediate flow of pressure; and

    at least one spray nozzle connected to receive the suppression agent from each suppressor tank, each spray nozzle being connected to the respective suppressor tank via a rupture cover configured to rupture and permit flow of suppression foam from the spray nozzle when pressure within the at least one suppressor tank exceeds a predetermined threshold;

    the controllable valve being controllable to permit flow of suppression agent in response to detection of a hazardous event.
