Abstract

The Spectrum Access System (SAS) may be utilized wireless emergency alert (WEA) information. The SAS may be utilized to retrieve additional WEA information, beyond that which was provided in a WEA message. Spectrum assigned for government purpose use (e.g., radar systems, department of defense use, homeland security use, etc.) may be dynamically allocated to commercial use.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a processor; and

memory coupled to the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising;

receiving a message via a first network, the first network operating in a first frequency band;

requesting information pertaining to the message; and

receiving information via a second network, the second network operating in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first frequency band is about 700 MHz to about 2000 MHz.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the second frequency band comprises at least one of:

a frequency band from about 3550 MHz to about 3650 MHz;

or

a frequency band from about 25 MHz to greater than about 6 GHz.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the message comprises a wireless emergency alert message.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the second frequency band comprises a government controlled frequency band.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first network comprises a telecommunications network.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the second network comprise a spectrum access system.

8. A method comprising:

receiving a message via a first network, the first network operating in a first frequency band;

requesting information pertaining to the message; and

receiving information via a second network, the second network operating in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the first frequency band is about 700 MHz to about 2000 MHz.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the second frequency band comprises at least one of:

a frequency band from about 3550 MHz to about 3650 MHz;

or

a frequency band from about 25 MHz to greater than about 6 GHz.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the message comprises a wireless emergency alert message.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the second frequency band comprises a government controlled frequency band.

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the first network comprises a telecommunications network.

14. The method of claim 8, wherein the second network comprise a spectrum access system.

15. A computer-readable storage medium comprising executable instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:

receiving a message via a first network, the first network operating in a first frequency band;

requesting information pertaining to the message; and

receiving information via a second network, the second network operating in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band.

16. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the first frequency band is about 700 MHz to about 2000 MHz.

17. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the second frequency band comprises at least one of:

a frequency band from about 3550 MHz to about 3650 MHz;

or

a frequency band from about 25 MHz to greater than about 6 GHz.

18. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the message comprises a wireless emergency alert message.

19. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the second frequency band comprises a government controlled frequency band.

20. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the second network comprise a spectrum access system.
