Abstract

A mobile terminal including a wireless communication unit configured to provide wireless communication; a touchscreen; a motion sensor configured to detect a motion of the mobile terminal; and a controller configured to receive a touch input through the touchscreen in combination with a rotation of the mobile terminal detected through the motion sensor, and execute a specific function on the mobile terminal corresponding to the combination of the touch input and the rotation of the mobile terminal.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to provide wireless communication;

a touchscreen;

a motion sensor configured to detect a motion of the mobile terminal; and

a controller configured to;

receive a touch input through the touchscreen in combination with a rotation of the mobile terminal detected through the motion sensor, and

execute a specific function on the mobile terminal corresponding to the combination of the touch input and the rotation of the mobile terminal.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to:

variably change the execution of the specific function corresponding to a touch point of the touch input changing while the mobile terminal is rotated.

3. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the touch input includes a touch-drag input in a first direction on the touchscreen, and

wherein the controller is further configured to:

control the execution of the specific function according to a distance of the touch-drag input while the mobile terminal is rotated.

4. The mobile terminal of claim 3, wherein the controller is further configured to:

display a first screen on a first region of the touchscreen, and

increase a size of the first screen corresponding to the distance of the touch-drag input while the mobile terminal is rotated.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to:

display a first indicator indicate an event occurred on the mobile terminal on the first screen, wherein the touch input is applied to the first indicator, and

display event related information on the increased size of the first screen.

6. The mobile terminal of claim 5, wherein the controller is further configured to:

sequentially display event related information for a plurality of events occurred on the mobile terminal in the increased size of the first screen.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to:

maintain the increased size of the first screen when the touch-drag input moves in a second direction.

8. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to

separate the first screen into first and second regions when the distance of the touch-drag input exceeds a preset value.

9. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller is further configured to:

display information related to a subsequent event occurred on the mobile terminal having a same category of the event on the second region.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller is further configured to:

display a graphic representation indicating a presence or non-presence of an arrival at the preset value as the touch-drag input proceeds.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein the graphical representation is displayed between the first and second regions.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to:

adjust a size and aspect ratio of displayed image content to correspond to the increased size of the first screen.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 3, wherein the controller is further configured to:

display a visual effect indicating the touch-drag input in the first direction is performed on the mobile terminal.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the controller is further configured to:

receive a repeated touch input to the visual effect after the touch input is released, and

stop displaying the visual effect around a region of the repeated touch input.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the mobile terminal is a wearable bangle having the touchscreen arranged along an outer circumference of the wearable bangle.

16. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

receiving a touch input through a touchscreen of the mobile terminal in combination with a rotation of the mobile terminal detected through a motion sensor; and

executing, via a controller of the mobile terminal, a specific function on the mobile terminal corresponding to the combination of the touch input and the rotation of the mobile terminal.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising:

variably changing, via the controller, the execution of the specific function corresponding to a touch point of the touch input changing while the mobile terminal is rotated.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the touch input includes a touch-drag input in a first direction on the touchscreen, and

wherein the method further comprises:

controlling the execution of the specific function according to a distance of the touch-drag input while the mobile terminal is rotated.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising:

displaying a first screen on a first region of the touchscreen; and

increasing a size of the first screen corresponding to the distance of the touch-drag input while the mobile terminal is rotated.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

displaying a first indicator indicate an event occurred on the mobile terminal on the first screen, wherein the touch input is applied to the first indicator; and

displaying event related information on the increased size of the first screen.
