Abstract

Systems and methods for displaying wells and their respective status on an electronic map based on a geographical area, a time frame and a preferred well activity.

Claims

1. A method for displaying wells and their respective status on an electronic map, which comprises:

selecting a geographical area on the electronic map and a time frame using at least one of a graphical user interface and default settings;

selecting a preferred well activity using the geographical user interface or the default settings, each well including a time-dependent well activity and a geographical location on the electronic map;

processing the selected time frame and the selected preferred well activity on a computer processor to identify each well with a time-dependent well activity within the selected time frame that matches the preferred well activity; and

displaying only the identified well(s) with a geographical location within the selected geographical area, and each respective time-dependent well activity on the electronic map.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the geographical area is selected using the geographical user interface and the time frame is selected using the default settings.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the default settings are predetermined.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the preferred well activity is selected using the geographical user interface.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the preferred well activity is selected from a preferred well activity group comprising drilling, cementing, casing and pad construction.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the time-dependent well activity comprises drilling cementing, casing or pad construction for the selected time frame.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the electronic map is a global map.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected time frame and the selected preferred well activity are processed on a mobile device.

9. A non-transitory program carrier device tangibly carrying computer executable instructions for displaying wells and their respective status on an electronic map, the instructions being executable to implement:

selecting a geographical area on the electronic map and a time frame using at least one of a graphical user interface and default settings;

selecting a preferred well activity using the geographical user interface or the default settings, each well including a time-dependent well activity and a geographical location on the electronic map;

processing the selected time frame and the selected preferred well activity to identify each well with a time-dependent well activity within the selected time frame that matches the preferred well activity; and

displaying only the identified well(s) with a geographical location within the selected geographical area, and each respective time-dependent well activity on the electronic map.

10. The program carrier device of claim 9, wherein the geographical area is selected using the geographical user interface and the time frame is selected using the default settings.

11. The program carrier device of claim 10, wherein the default settings are predetermined.

12. The program carrier device of claim 9, wherein the preferred well activity is selected using the geographical user interface.

13. The program carrier device of claim 9, wherein the preferred well activity is selected from a preferred well activity group comprising drilling, cementing, casing and pad construction.

14. The program carrier device of claim 13, wherein the time-dependent well activity comprises drilling cementing, casing or pad construction for the selected time frame.

15. The program carrier device of claim 9, wherein the electronic map is a global map.

16. The program carrier device of claim 9, wherein the selected time frame and the selected preferred well activity are processed on a mobile device.

17. A non-transitory program carrier device tangibly carrying computer executable instructions for displaying wells and their respective status on an electronic map, the instructions being executable to implement:

selecting a geographical area on the electronic map and a time frame;

selecting a preferred well activity, each well including a time-dependent well activity and a geographical location on the electronic map;

processing the selected time frame and the selected preferred well activity to identify each well with a time-dependent well activity within the selected time frame that matches the preferred well activity; and

displaying only the identified well(s) with a geographical location within the selected geographical area, and each respective time-dependent well activity on the electronic map.

18. The program carrier device of claim 17, wherein the preferred well activity is selected from a preferred well activity group comprising drilling, cementing, casing and pad construction.

19. The program carrier device of claim 18, wherein the time-dependent well activity comprises drilling cementing, casing or pad construction for the selected time frame.

20. The program carrier device of claim 17, wherein the selected time frame and the selected preferred well activity are processed on a mobile device.
