Abstract

A production machine or machine tool has a memory into which a part program incorporating HMI instructions in the form of script segments is loaded, wherein the HMI instructions are evaluated by a processing component during the execution of the part program and wherein a display unit is controlled by the processing component for displaying HMI outputs. A corresponding method and a computer program for executing the method are also disclosed.

Claims

1. A production machine or machine tool comprising:

a memory having a part program loaded into the memory and incorporating HMI instructions,

a processor configured to execute the part program,

a processing component comprising a language element evaluation unit and an HMI element administration unit, wherein the processing component is configured to evaluate the HMI instructions during execution of the part program, and

a display unit controlled by the processing component and displaying HMI outputs,

wherein the language element evaluation unit is configured to identify HMI elements that are referenced in the HMI instructions, and the HMI element administration unit is configured to generate an HMI output for each identified HMI element.

2. The production machine or machine tool of claim 1, where the processing component is configured to evaluate a syntax or semantics defined for the HMI instructions.

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium with computer-readable program code stored thereon, wherein when the program code is loaded into a memory of a production machine or machine tool and executed by a processor of the production machine or machine tool, causes the production machine or machine tool to execute a part program that incorporates HMI instructions,

evaluate, during execution of the part program, the HMI instructions with a processing component which includes a language element evaluation unit that evaluates the HMI instructions and identifies HMI elements referenced in the HMI instructions and an HMI element administration unit,

generate with the HMI element administration unit a corresponding HMI output for each identified HMI element, and

control with the processing component a display unit for displaying HMI elements. The production machine or machine tool of claim 1, wherein the processing component is embodied as a computer program that is loaded into a memory of the production machine or machine tool and executed by a processor of the production machine or machine tool during operation of the production machine or machine tool.

3. A method for operating a production machine or machine tool, comprising:

executing a part program that incorporates HMI instructions,

during execution of the part program, evaluating the HMI instructions with a processing component which includes a language element evaluation unit that evaluates the HMI instructions and identifies HMI elements referenced in the HMI instructions and an HMI element administration unit,

generating with the HMI element administration unit a corresponding HMI output for each identified HMI element, and

controlling with the processing component a display unit for displaying HMI elements.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

evaluating the HMI instructions with the language element evaluation unit and identifying software functions referenced in in the HMI instructions,

executing the identified software functions and generating additional HMI instructions during execution of the identified software functions,

evaluating the additional HMI instructions with the language element evaluation unit and identifying software functions referenced in in the additional HMI instructions, and

generating with the HMI element administration unit a corresponding HMI output for each identified HMI element.

A computer program stored on a non-transitory computer-readable medium and comprising with program code, wherein when the program code is loaded into a memory of a production machine or machine tool and executed by a processor of the production machine or machine tool, causes the production machine or machine tool to execute a part program that incorporates HMI instructions,

evaluate, during execution of the part program, the HMI instructions with a processing component which includes a language element evaluation unit that evaluates the HMI instructions and identifies HMI elements referenced in the HMI instructions and an HMI element administration unit,

generate with the HMI element administration unit a corresponding HMI output for each identified HMI element, and

control with the processing component a display unit for displaying HMI elements.
