Method and System for Storing, Retrieving, and Managing Data for Tags
First Claim
1. A method for accessing and organizing tag-related data, the method being implemented by at least one computer including one or more processors and comprising:
- accessing data associated with one or more tags from one or more data repositories, the one or more tags having one or more tag identifiers, the data associated with the one or more tags including location information of the one or more tags;
linking together at least one portion of the accessed data that is associated with at least one of the one or more tag identifiers, to provide location information of an object using the location information of the one or more tags;
determining two or more tag identifiers that satisfy a query or keyword search; and
ranking the determined two or more tag identifiers based on tag references of the determined two or more tag identifiers.

Abstract
This invention relates generally to a method and system for storing, retrieving, and managing data for tags that are associated in some manner to any type of object. More particularly, the present invention writes data to these tags, reads data from these tags, and manages data that is written to and/or read from these tags. In addition, the invention accesses and/or stores data associated with tags from or into repositories, constructs and maintains data structures from these repositories and responds to queries using the data structures.

16. A system for retrieving and organizing data that is associated with one or more tags having one or more tag identifiers from a plurality of repositories, the system being implemented by at least one computer including one or more processors and comprising:
-
means for retrieving data associated with one or more tags from one or more of the repositories, the one or more tags having one or more tag identifiers, and the data associated with one or more tags including location information of the one or more tags; means for linking together at least one portion of the data that is associated with at least one of the one or more tag identifiers, to provide location information of an object using the location information of the one or more tags; means for determining two or more tag identifiers that satisfy a query or keyword search; and means for ranking the determined two or more tag identifiers based on tag references of the determined two or more tag identifiers. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19)

20. A method for accessing and organizing tag-related data, the method being implemented by at least one computer including one or more processors and comprising:
-
accessing data associated with one or more entities, the entities associated with one or more tags having one or more tag identifiers, the data being stored in one or more data repositories, wherein the step of accessing data associated with the one or more entities is triggered by a first event notification; accessing data associated with one or more other entities, the other entities associated with one or more tags having one or more tag identifiers, the data being stored in one or more data repositories, wherein the step of accessing data associated with one or more other entities is triggered by a second event notification; and linking the accessed data associated with the one or more entities together with the accessed data associated with the one or more other entities using the one or more tag identifiers.
