Abstract

The systems and methods described herein are directed to graphical user interfaces presenting resource consumption analytics. Resource usage is provided in a graphical user interface indicating current resource consumption and/or historical resource consumption. Weather data and a cumulative running total can be provided along with the resource consumption data to clearly provide a deep understanding of resource usage and operating conditions. Further, resource consumption information from multiple monitoring locations may be juxtaposed and/or presented simultaneously to provide an indication of outlying usage consumption among similarly situated monitoring locations. The graphical user interfaces may be provided with alerts, alarms, thereby reporting and alerting to an end-user via multiple delivery mechanisms, of potential sources of resource waste or loss. Further, the alerts or alarms can include easily interpreted recommendations to allow a non-skilled worker to take corrective procedures to maximize efficient use of the consumable resources.

Claims

1. A method for providing a graphical user interface including at least one resource consumption analytics, the method comprising:

under control of one or more processors configured with executable instructions;

accessing first resource consumption data indicating a first consumption of a first water resource over a period of time, the first resource consumption data received from a first gateway device at a first monitoring location;

accessing second resource consumption data indicating a second consumption of a second water resource over the period of time, the second resource consumption data received from a second gateway device at a second monitoring location;

associating the first resource consumption data and the second resource consumption data over the period of time;

presenting, in the graphical user interface, a first graphic including the first resource consumption data over the period of time and a second graphic including the second resource consumption data over the period of time; and

presenting, in the graphical user interface, an indication of a suspected event indicating a misuse of the first water resource at the first monitoring location.

The method of claim 1, further comprising presenting, in the graphical user interface, an indication of a mechanical waste associated with the first monitoring location and an operational waste associated with the first monitoring location, wherein the mechanical waste comprises a first misuse of the first water resource resulting from a failure of a mechanism at the first monitoring location, and wherein the operational waste comprises a second misuse of the first water resource resulting from an incorrect application of a standard operation procedure for operating the mechanism at the first monitoring location.

The method of claim 1, further comprising presenting, in the graphical user interface, a first indication of a first total resource consumption of the first water resource over the time period and a second indication of a second total resource consumption of the second water resource over the time period.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing the graphical user interface to a computing device as a daily report.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing at least one link in the graphical user interface to a resource consumption page specific to the first monitoring location.

6. A system for monitoring a water resource and for providing at least one graphical user interface, the system comprising:

one or more processors;

memory storing modules that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform operations comprising;

accessing first resource consumption data indicating a first consumption of a first water resource over a period of time, the first resource consumption data received from a first gateway device at a first monitoring location;

accessing second resource consumption data indicating a second consumption of a second water resource over the period of time, the second resource consumption data received from a second gateway device at a second monitoring location;

associating the first resource consumption data and the second resource consumption data over the period of time; and

presenting, in the at least one graphical user interface, a first graphic including the first resource consumption data over the period of time and a second graphic including the second resource consumption data over the period of time.

The system of claim 6, wherein the operations further comprise presenting, in the at least one graphical user interface, an indication of a mechanical waste associated with the first monitoring location and an operational waste associated with the first monitoring location, wherein the mechanical waste comprises a first misuse of the first water resource resulting from a failure of a mechanism at the first monitoring location, and wherein the operational waste comprises a second misuse of the first water resource resulting from an incorrect application of a standard operation procedure for operating the mechanism at the first monitoring location.

8. The system of claim 6, wherein the operations further comprise presenting, in the at least one graphical user interface, a first indication of a first total resource consumption of the first water resource over the time period and a second indication of a second total resource consumption of the second water resource over the time period.

9. The system of claim 6, wherein the operations further comprise providing the at least one graphical user interface to a computing device as a daily report.

10. The system of claim 6, wherein the operations further comprise providing at least one link in the at least one graphical user interface to a resource consumption page specific to the first monitoring location.

11. A method for providing a graphical user interface including at least one resource consumption analytics, the method comprising:

under control of one or more processors configured with executable instructions;

accessing first resource consumption data indicating a first consumption of a water resource over a period of time, the first resource consumption data received from a gateway device at a monitoring location;

accessing first weather data indicating a first weather over the period of time;

associating the first weather data with a first discrete weather graphic for a sub-period of time within the period of time, the first discrete weather graphic including at least a temperature and a weather icon;

presenting, in the graphical user interface, a first graphic including the first resource consumption data over the period of time; and

annotating the first graphic with the first discrete weather graphic, wherein the first discrete weather graphic is annotated at a location corresponding to the sub-period of time within the period of time.

12. The method of claim 11, further comprising presenting, in the graphical user interface, a plot of a cumulative total associated with the first resource consumption data over the period of time.

13. The method of claim 11, further comprising presenting, in the graphical user interface, a first axis indicating a first scale of the first resource consumption data and a second axis indicating a second scale of the plot of the cumulative total.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein the period of time is a first period of time, the method further comprising:

accessing second resource consumption data indicating a second consumption of the water resource over a second period of time, the second resource consumption data received from the gateway device at the monitoring location;

accessing second weather data indicating a second weather over the second period of time;

associating the second weather data with a second discrete weather graphic for a sub-period of time within the second period of time, the second discrete weather graphic including at least another temperature and another weather icon;

presenting, in the graphical user interface, a second graphic including the second resource consumption data over the second period of time; and

annotating the second graphic with the second discrete weather graphic, wherein the second discrete weather graphic is annotated at a location corresponding to the sub-period of time within the second period of time.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the second graphic is presented below the first graphic in the graphical user interface without the second graphic overlapping the first graphic.

16. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

receiving an indication to change the second time period to a third time period; and

updating the graphical user interface with a third graphic including a third resource consumption data over a third time period.

17. The method of claim 11, further comprising providing the graphical user interface to a computing device as a daily report.

18. The method of claim 11, further comprising providing, in the graphical user interface, an indication of a suspected event indicating a misuse of the water resource at the monitoring location.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising presenting, in the graphical user interface, at least one recommendation providing instructions to mitigate the suspected event.

20. The method of claim 11, wherein the sub-period of time within the period of time is a discrete hourly interval, the method further comprising:

providing an individual discrete weather graphic for each discrete hourly interval within the period of time, the individual discrete weather graphic including at least a temperature and a weather icon associated with each discrete hourly interval; and

annotating the first graphic with each individual discrete weather graphic, wherein each individual discrete weather graphic is annotated at a location corresponding to each discrete hourly interval within the period of time.
