Abstract

A triggering mechanism may provide a user of a device the ability to send a multimedia message and/or capture multimedia information via the device without the user unlocking the device, without the user opening a messaging application and/or without the user opening an information capturing application on the device. In an example configuration, an emergency call button, or the like, on the device may provide a user several options for sending a message and/or capturing information. Upon selecting one or more of the options, applications for effectuating the selected option(s) may be automatically initiated without user intervention.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a processor; and

memory coupled to the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising;

receiving a trigger;

responsive to receiving the trigger, without human intervention, rendering a plurality of options for activating a service;

receiving an indication of at least one selected option of the plurality of options; and

responsive to receiving the indication, without human intervention, initiating the at least one selected option.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, the operations further comprising:

responsive to receiving the trigger, without human intervention, unlocking the apparatus.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, the operations further comprising:

responsive to receiving the indication, without human intervention, determining a destination for information acquired via execution of the at least one selected option.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, the operations further comprising:

establishing, without human intervention, a communication channel for providing the information to the determined destination.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, the trigger comprising at least one of:

a button on the apparatus;

a region on a user interface of the apparatus;

a vibratory trigger;

or

an audio trigger.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, the trigger comprising:

moving the apparatus in a predetermined pattern.

7. The apparatus of claim 1, the selected option is indicative of at least two of:

a voice call;

a photograph;

a video;

or

a text message.

8. A method comprising:

receiving a trigger by a device;

responsive to receiving the trigger, without human intervention, rendering, via the device, a plurality of options for activating a service;

receiving, by the device, an indication of at least one selected option of the plurality of options; and

responsive to receiving the indication, without human intervention, initiating the at least one selected option.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

responsive to receiving the trigger, without human intervention, unlocking the device.

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

responsive to receiving the indication, without human intervention, determining a destination for information acquired via execution of the at least one selected option.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

establishing, without human intervention, a communication channel for providing the information to the determined destination.

12. The method of claim 8, the trigger comprising at least one of:

a button on the apparatus;

a region on a user interface of the apparatus;

a vibratory trigger;

or

an audio trigger.

13. The method of claim 8, the trigger comprising:

moving the apparatus in a predetermined pattern.

14. The method of claim 8, the selected option is indicative of at least one of:

a voice call;

a photograph;

a video;

or

a text message.

15. A computer-readable storage medium comprising executable instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:

receiving a trigger by a device;

responsive to receiving the trigger, without human intervention, rendering, via the device, a plurality of options for activating a service;

receiving, by the device, an indication of at least one selected option of the plurality of options; and

responsive to receiving the indication, without human intervention, initiating the at least one selected option.

16. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, the operations further comprising:

responsive to receiving the trigger, without human intervention, unlocking the device.

17. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, the operations further comprising:

responsive to receiving the indication, without human intervention, determining a destination for information acquired via execution of the at least one selected option.

18. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 17, the operations further comprising:

establishing, without human intervention, a communication channel for providing the information to the determined destination.

19. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, the trigger comprising at least one of:

a button on the apparatus;

a region on a user interface of the apparatus;

a vibratory trigger;

or

an audio trigger.

20. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, the trigger comprising:

moving the apparatus in a predetermined pattern.
