- a. a light source with multiple portions that can be operated independently;
b. a light distribution system that provides light from each portion of the light source to illuminate a corresponding area of the display; and
c. a control system to turn OFF portions of the light source that are associated with portions of the display area where there is no image content in a corresponding section of the see-through display.
