Abstract

A system for guiding and evaluating physical positioning, orientation and motion of the human body, comprising: a cloud computing-based subsystem including an artificial neural network and spatial position analyzer said cloud computing-based subsystem adapted for data storage, management and analysis; at least one motion sensing device wearable on the human body, said at least one motion sensing device adapted to detect changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion; a mobile subsystem running an application program (app) that controls said at least one motion sensing device, said mobile subsystem adapted to capture activity data quantifying said changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion, said mobile subsystem further adapted to transfer said activity data to said cloud computing-based subsystem, wherein said cloud computing-based subsystem processes, stores, and analyzes said activity data.

Claims

1. A system for guiding and evaluating physical positioning, orientation and motion of the human body, comprising:

a cloud computing-based subsystem including an artificial neural network and spatial position analyzer said cloud computing-based subsystem adapted for data storage, management and analysis;

at least one motion sensing device wearable on the human body, said at least one motion sensing device adapted to detect changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion;

a mobile subsystem running an application program (app) that controls said at least one motion sensing device, said mobile subsystem adapted to capture activity data quantifying said changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion, said mobile subsystem further adapted to transmit said activity data to said cloud computing-based subsystem,

wherein said cloud computing-based subsystem processes, stores, and analyzes said activity data.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein said mobile subsystem is adapted to include at least an artificial neural network and spatial position analyzer to operate independently without interacting with said cloud computing-based subsystem.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein said mobile subsystem comprises a smartphone and at least one wearable mobile device.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein said at least one wearable mobile device is adapted to measure at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion.

5. The system of claim 3, wherein said smartphone is adapted to receive data collected by said wearable mobile device and sent to said smartphone.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein said mobile subsystem is adapted to receive said activity data comprising at least wheelchair tilt and recline angles.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein said mobile subsystem is adapted to receive said activity data comprising at least quantified measures of movement range and angle of motion captured during exercise or physical therapy.

8. The system of claim 3, wherein an arm-band is adapted to mount said smartphone to a human arm and said smartphone is adapted to measure arm movement.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein said at least one wearable mobile device comprising any one of Microsoft Band, smartwatch, or motion sensor is adapted to mount in a position on a human arm so that arm movements can be measured.

10. The system of claim 3, wherein a leg-band is used to mount said smartphone to a human leg and so that leg movement can be measured.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein said at least one wearable mobile device comprising any one of Microsoft Band, smartwatch, or motion sensor is adapted to mount in a position on a human leg so that leg movements can be measured.

12. The system of claim 1, wherein said cloud computing-based subsystem is adapted with a user interface that enables healthcare providers and researchers to at least monitor and analyze whether patients follow therapeutic guidelines they prescribe.

13. A system for guiding and evaluating physical positioning, orientation and motion of the human body, comprising:

an artificial neural network and a spatial position analyzer subsystem adapted for data storage, management and analysis;

at least one motion sensing device wearable on the human body, said at least one motion sensing device adapted to detect changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion;

a mobile subsystem running an application program (app) that controls said at least one motion sensing device, said mobile subsystem adapted to capture data quantifying said changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion, said mobile subsystem further adapted to send said activity data to said spatial position analyzer subsystem.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein said mobile subsystem comprises a smartphone adapted to receive data collected by said wearable mobile device and sent to said smartphone.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein said smartphone is adapted to receive data comprising at least wheelchair tilt and recline angles.

16. The system of claim 13, wherein said mobile subsystem is further adapted to receive data comprising at least quantified measures of movement range and angle of motion captured during exercise or physical therapy.

17. The system of claim 13, wherein said at least one motion sensing device comprises any one of a smartphone, Microsoft Band, smartwatch, or motion sensor adapted to mount in a position on a human arm so that arm movements can be measured.

18. The system of claim 13, wherein said at least one motion sensing device comprises any one of smartphone, Microsoft Band, smartwatch, or motion sensor adapted to mount in a position on a human leg so that leg movements can be measured.

The system of claim 13, further comprising a cloud computing-based subsystem adapted to receive data from said mobile subsystem, said cloud computing-based subsystem comprising a user interface that enables healthcare providers and researchers to at least monitor and analyze whether patients follow therapeutic guidelines they prescribe.

20. A system for guiding and evaluating physical positioning, orientation and motion of the human body, comprising:

a cloud computing-based subsystem including an artificial neural network and spatial position analyzer, said cloud computing-based subsystem adapted for data storage, management and analysis;

at least one motion sensing device, said at least one motion sensing device being attached to a garment or headgear wearable on the human body, said at least one motion sensing device adapted to detect changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion;

a mobile subsystem running an application program (app) that controls said at least one motion sensing device, said mobile subsystem adapted to capture activity data quantifying said changes in at least one of spatial position, orientation, and rate of motion, said mobile subsystem further adapted to transfer said activity data to said cloud computing-based subsystem,

a user interface adapted to provide auditory or visual guidance to a user directed to body and appendage movement, said guidance derived from analysis of said activity data.
