Abstract

Disclosed herein is inter alia a channel selection interface includes a plurality of sectors, each of the sectors including a number of tunable service identifiers divided by the plurality of sectors, and a plurality of channel markers that separate the plurality of sectors. The channel selection interface provides an even allocation of channels for a gesture recognition interface.

Claims

1. A channel selection interface for a vehicle, comprising:

a plurality of sectors, each of the sectors including a number of tunable service identifiers divided by a total number plurality of sectors; and

a plurality of channel markers, which separate the plurality of sectors.

2. The channel selection interface as recited in claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers bound at least one of the plurality of sectors.

3. The channel selection interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the plurality of sectors includes four sectors.

4. The channel selection interface as recited in claim 3, wherein the plurality of channel markers includes four channel marker sectors.

5. The channel selection interface as recited in claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers are represented by a channel number.

6. The channel selection interface as recited in claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers are represented by the corresponding channel number for an associated tunable service identifier for satellite radio.

7. A head unit for a vehicle, comprising:

an interactive display system operable to display a satellite radio channel selection interface, the channel selection interface providing an even allocation of channels; and

a gesture recognition interface in communication with the interactive display system to select the desired channel.

8. The head unit as recited in claim 7, wherein the channel selection interface includes a plurality of sectors, each of the sectors including a number of tunable service identifiers divided by the plurality of sectors.

9. The head unit as recited in claim 8, wherein the channel selection interface includes a plurality of channel markers which separate the plurality of sectors.

10. The head unit as recited in claim 9, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers bound one of the plurality of sectors.

11. The head unit as recited in claim 7, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers bound at least one of the plurality of sectors.

12. The head unit as recited in claim 9, wherein the plurality of sectors includes three sectors.

13. The head unit as recited in claim 12, wherein the plurality of channel markers includes four channel markers.

14. The head unit as recited in claim 9, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers are represented by a corresponding channel number.

15. The head unit as recited in claim 9, wherein each of the plurality of channel markers are represented by a channel number for an associated tunable service identifier.

16. The head unit as recited in claim 9, wherein the gesture recognition interface is a touch pad.

17. The head unit as recited in claim 16, wherein a swiping motion is utilized to select the desired channel.

18. The head unit as recited in claim 16, wherein a motion is utilized to select one of a plurality of channel markers that separate the plurality of sectors.

19. The head unit as recited in claim 16, wherein the channel selection interface is rendered as a bar.

20. The head unit as recited in claim 19, wherein a selector is moved along the bar in response to a gesture on the gesture recognition interface.
