Abstract

According to an embodiment, there is provided a wire grid polarizer comprising a substrate, a plurality of parallel conductive wire patterns which is located to protrude on the substrate, and an oxidation prevention layer which is located along an upper surface of the conductive wire patterns, wherein the oxidation prevention layer is formed of a compound including aluminum and fluorine.

Claims

1. A wire grid polarizer, comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of parallel conductive wire patterns which is located to protrude on the substrate; and

an oxidation prevention layer which is located along an upper surface of the conductive wire patterns,

wherein the oxidation prevention layer is formed of a compound including aluminum and fluorine.

2. The wire grid polarizer of claim 1, wherein the conductive wire pattern includes one metal selected from a group consisting of aluminum (Al), chrome (Cr), silver (Ag), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), and molybdenum (Mo) and an alloy thereof.

3. The wire grid polarizer of claim 1, wherein the conductive wire pattern comprises:

a first conductive wire pattern which is located on the substrate; and

a second conductive wire pattern which is located on the first conductive wire pattern.

4. The wire grid polarizer of claim 1, further comprising:

a hard mask between the conductive wire patterns and the oxidation prevention layer.

5. The wire aid polarizer of claim 1, further comprising:

a reflective layer which is located in a region between the conductive wire patterns, on the substrate.

6. A display panel, comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of conductive wire patterns which is located to protrude on the substrate;

an oxidation prevention layer located on the conductive wire patterns;

a gate line which is located on the oxidation prevention layer and extends in a first direction;

a data line which is insulated from the gate line and extends in a second direction;

a thin film transistor which is electrically connected to the gate line and the data line; and

a pixel electrode which is electrically connected to the thin film transistor,

wherein the oxidation prevention layer is formed of a compound including aluminum and fluorine.

7. The display panel of claim 6, farther comprising:

a reflective layer which is located in a region between the conductive wire patterns, on the substrate,

wherein the conductive wire patterns are located in an opening region which corresponds to the pixel electrode and the reflective layer is located in a non-opening region which does not correspond to the pixel electrode.

8. The display panel of claim 6, further comprising:

a protection layer on the oxidation prevention layer.

9. A method of fabricating a wire grid polarizer, comprising:

forming a conductive wire pattern layer on a substrate;

forming a conductive wire pattern by patterning the conductive wire pattern layer; and

forming an oxidation prevention layer in-situ after the forming of the conductive wire pattern.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the forming of the conductive wire pattern is performed in a vacuum chamber.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the forming of the oxidation prevention layer is performed by plasma processing under a fluorinated gas atmosphere.

12. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

after the forming of the oxidation prevention layer,

forming a protection layer on the oxidation prevention layer.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the forming of the protection layer is performed by a coating method.
