1. A method for reducing color breakup in a head-mounted display that provides color sequential displayed images with a number of pixels in each displayed image to a user at a frame rate, comprising:
- a. selecting a predetermined threshold for a speed of movement of the head mounted display;
b. detecting a speed of movement of the head mounted display; and
c. wherein if the detected speed of movement is above the threshold, monochrome images are displayed instead of color sequential images.
