Abstract

A method and system wherein a user can log in to a cloud based server using a selected communications device. Upon log in, a selected plurality of video cameras is activated to simultaneously provide streaming video from each of the cameras to a second cloud based server. Upon designation of a member of the plurality, the designated camera streams video to the user'"'"'s communications device, and streaming from all other members of the plurality is terminated.

Claims

1. A process comprising:

providing a plurality of network enabled video-type cameras;

associating members of the plurality with a predetermined user;

receiving log in information, associated with the user, via a selected communications device;

linking the log in information to the plurality of video-type cameras, and simultaneously activating members of the plurality and enabling each member to immediately start streaming video to the relay server, and, wherein in response to receiving a camera designation, forwarding video from the designated camera to the selected communications device.

2. A process as in claim 1 including terminating the streaming video from all members of the plurality except for the designated camera or cameras.

3. A process as in claim 2 wherein bandwidth released by terminating the streaming video is available for another application.

4. A process as in claim 3 which includes providing a designation of a second member of the plurality and switching to streaming video from the second member of the plurality.

5. A process as in claim 1 which includes providing a cloud based control server;

and

coupling the members of the plurality to the control server wherein the server provides services to the members of the plurality.

6. A process as in claim 1 wherein all members of the plurality stream video signals for a limited time interval, and, upon receiving the camera designation, forwarding video only from the designated camera or cameras to the selected communications device.

7. A process as in claim 1 which includes providing a relay server;

and

wherein each member starts streaming video to the relay server.

8. A process as in claim 7 which includes, providing a cloud based control server;

and

coupling the members of the plurality to the control server wherein the server provides services to the members of the plurality.

9. A process as in claim 8 which includes providing control and monitoring circuits coupled to the members of the plurality so as to form a regional monitoring system which can communicate with a displaced communication device via a computer network and a cloud based service.

10. An apparatus comprising:

a plurality of video-type cameras;

at least one server;

a user communications device, wherein the cameras are linked to the server which is linked, at least intermittently, to the communications device with the members of the plurality are simultaneously activated and all stream video, requiring a first bandwidth, and wherein the communications device specifies a selected member of the plurality to continue streaming and the remaining members cease streaming thereby requiring a second, reduced, bandwidth.

11. An apparatus as in claim 10 which includes, control and monitoring circuits coupled to the members of the plurality so as to form a regional monitoring system which can communicate with a displaced communication device via a computer network and a cloud based service.

12. An apparatus as in claim 10 which includes a second server which is coupled between the plurality of cameras and the communications device wherein the second sever provides services to members of the plurality.

13. An apparatus as in claim 12 wherein servers are coupled to the plurality of cameras via a computer network and a cloud based service.

14. A system comprising:

at least one cloud based server, and a plurality of video cameras, wherein a user can log in to the cloud based server using a selected communications device, and, upon log in, the plurality of video cameras is activated to simultaneously provide streaming video from each of the cameras to a second cloud based server wherein, upon designation of a member of the plurality, the designated camera continues to stream video which is then directed to the user'"'"'s communications device, and streaming from all other members of the plurality is terminated.
