Abstract

A printing apparatus which performs printing processing based on print data, and has a direct wireless communication function, includes a wired interface, a wireless interface, and a control unit. The wired interface receives print data. The wireless interface receives print data by a wireless communication by the direct wireless communication function. The control unit applies, as a condition of a port which can be used in a communication including receiving of print data, a first port condition to a communication by the wired interface, and applies a second port condition to a wireless communication by the direct wireless communication function.

Claims

1. A printing which performs printing processing based on print data, and has a direct wireless communication function, the printing apparatus comprising:

a wired interface configured to receive print data;

a wireless interface configured to receive print data a wireless communication by the direct wireless communication function; and

a control unit configured to apply, as a condition of a port which can be used in a communication including receiving of print data, a first port condition to a communication by the wired interface, and apply a second port condition to a wireless communication by the direct wireless communication function.

7. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a setting unit configured to set a first port number which can be used both in a communication by the wired interface and in a wireless communication by the direct wireless communication function, and a second port number which cannot be used in a communication by the wired interface but can be used in a wireless communication by the direct wireless communication function,

wherein, in the second port condition, the first port number and the second port number are designated, and

wherein, in the first port condition, the first port number is designated but the second port number is not designated.

8. The printing apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising a display unit configured to display a setting screen for a user to set the first port number and the second port number.

9. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the direct wireless communication function is a function in which a wireless communication between the printing apparatus and the external apparatus is performed without employing an external access point.

2. The printing apparatus according to claim 2,

wherein, in the second port condition, a first port number and a second port number are designated as a number of a port which can be used in the wireless communication, and

wherein, in the first port condition, the first port number is designated but the second port number is not designated as a number of a port which can be used in the communication.

3. The printing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the second port number can be set by a user.

4. The printing apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising a display unit configured to display a setting screen for a user to set the second port number.

5. The printing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the first port number and the second port number can be set by a user.

6. The printing apparatus according to claim 5, further comprising a display unit configured to display a setting screen for a user to set the first port number and the second port number.
