1. A solid fuel nozzle tip for issuing a flow of mixed solid fuel and air to a boiler comprising:
- a tip body having an inlet and an outlet defining a longitudinal axis therebetween, wherein the tip body includes a slot on an inlet side of the tip body extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis, wherein the slot includes an opening facing the inlet side of the tip body and wherein the slot includes a recess formed at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis to at least partially retain a pivot pin.

A solid fuel nozzle tip for issuing a flow of mixed solid fuel and air to a boiler includes a tip body having an inlet and an outlet defining a longitudinal axis therebetween. The tip body includes a slot on an inlet side of the tip body extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis. The slot includes an opening facing the inlet side of the tip body and a recess formed at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis to at least partially retain a pivot pin. A solid fuel nozzle assembly for issuing a flow of mixed solid fuel and air to a boiler includes a solid fuel nozzle tip with a tip body, as described above, and a locking plate operatively connected to the tip body to assist in retaining a pivot pin within the slot of the tip body.

13. A method of retrofitting a solid fuel nozzle, the method comprising:

positioning a tip body over a nozzle body, wherein the nozzle body includes a pivot pin extending therefrom, wherein the tip body includes; an inlet and an outlet defining a longitudinal axis therebetween; and a slot on an inlet side of the tip body extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis, wherein the slot includes an opening facing the inlet side of the tip body and wherein the slot includes a recess formed at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis; and sliding the tip body over the pivot pin, wherein the pivot pin engages with the slot of the tip body, slides along the slot, and engages with the recess of the slot. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
