Abstract

A connector is provided and includes a housing with an electronic module receiving passageway positioned therein. The housing includes a first housing and a second housing. The first housing includes a pair of first sidewalls positioned opposite from each other and a pair of partitions forming a slot extending along each of the pair of first sidewalls. The second housing includes a pair of second sidewalls positioned opposite one another, an extension disposed on each the pair of second sidewalls and corresponding with the slot, and a plurality of ribs extending outward from the extension and corresponding with inner surface of the pair of partitions.

Claims

1. A connector, comprising:

a housing with an electronic module receiving passageway positioned therein and having;

a first housing with a pair of first sidewalls positioned opposite from each other and a pair of partitions forming a slot extending along each of the pair of first sidewalls; and

a second housing with a pair of second sidewalls positioned opposite one another, an extension disposed on each the pair of second sidewalls and corresponding with the slot; and

a plurality of ribs extending outward from the extension and corresponding with inner surface of the pair of partitions.

2. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the slot receives the extension such that the pair of partitions engage the extension.

3. The connector according to claim 2, wherein the plurality of ribs are formed along an inner side and an outer side of the extension and inner side of the pair of partitions.

4. The connector according to claim 3, further comprising a pair of cable receiving sections positioned along proximal ends of the first and second housings, respectively.

5. The connector according to claim 4, wherein the pair of cable receiving sections form a cable receiving passageway extending into the electronic module receiving passageway.

6. The connector according to claim 5, further comprising a plurality of ring protrusions disposed along an inner wall of the cable receiving passageway.

7. The connector according to claim 4, further comprising a sleeve positioned over the pair of cable receiving sections.

8. The connector according to claim 1, further comprising a grip extending from the first housing or the second housing.

9. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the connector is substantially cuboid shaped.

10. The connector according to claim 9, further comprising a block on an inner side of the first housing or the second housing.

11. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the first housing and the second housing include a widened section having a positioning slot extending outward therefrom.

12. The connector according to claim 1, further comprising a coupler overlapping and biasing the first and second housings toward each other.
