METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR PRESENTING ADVERTISEMENTS RELEVANT TO NEARBY USERS ON A PUBLIC DISPLAY DEVICE

11. A system for presenting content on a public display device, the system comprising:
- a hardware processor that is programmed to;
receive location information associated with a plurality of mobile devices, wherein the location information associated with a mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices is indicative of a position of the mobile device relative to a display device associated with a retail outlet;
receive information related to one or more interests associated with at least a portion of the plurality of mobile devices;
identify a plurality of advertising sources associated with the display device, wherein the plurality of advertising sources includes at least a retailer associated with the retail outlet;
determine a topic based on the received information related to one or more interests and the location information associated with the portion of the plurality of mobile devices for which information related to one or more interests was received;
determine that the topic is related to one or more advertisements associated with the retailer;
in response to determining that the topic is related to the one or more advertisements associated with the retailer, cause an advertisement from the retailer associated with the retail outlet to be selected based on the topic; and
cause the selected advertisement to be presented by the display device.

Methods, systems, and media for presenting advertisements relevant to nearby users on a public display device are provided. In some implementations, a method for presenting content on a public display device, the method comprising: receiving location information associated with mobile devices that is indicative of a position of the mobile device relative to a display device associated with a retail outlet; receiving interests associated with the mobile devices; identifying a plurality of advertising sources associated with the display device, including a retailer associated with the retail outlet; determining a topic based on the received interests and the location information associated with the mobile devices; determining that the topic is related an advertisement associated with the retailer; causing the advertisement associated with the retailer to be selected based on the topic; and causing the selected advertisement to be presented by the display device.

receiving location information associated with a plurality of mobile devices, wherein the location information associated with a mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices is indicative of a position of the mobile device relative to a display device associated with a retail outlet; receiving information related to one or more interests associated with at least a portion of the plurality of mobile devices; identifying a plurality of advertising sources associated with the display device, wherein the plurality of advertising sources includes at least a retailer associated with the retail outlet; determining a topic based on the received information related to one or more interests and the location information associated with the portion of the plurality of mobile devices for which information related to one or more interests was received; determining that the topic is related to one or more advertisements associated with the retailer; in response to determining that the topic is related to the one or more advertisements associated with the retailer, causing an advertisement from the retailer associated with the retail outlet to be selected based on the topic; and causing the selected advertisement to be presented by the display device.
