Abstract

Among other disclosures, a method may include collecting historical communication data and personal data relating to a portion of a plurality of communications, a sender of one or more of the communications or one or more recipients of the communications. The method may include depositing the collected data into a repository of historical communication data and personal data. The method may include presenting one or more items in the repository, in response to user behavior.

38. A method, comprising:

grouping, by at least one computing device, a first subset of prior communications into a first conversation thread;

grouping, by the computing device, a second subset of the prior communications into a second conversation thread;

analyzing, by the computing device, the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread and assigning a first rank to the first conversation thread and a second rank to the second conversation thread, the first rank being higher than the second rank, wherein assigning the first and second ranks is based on determining, from the analysis of the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread, that the first conversation thread contains communications related to a first topic and the second conversation thread contains communications related to a second topic; and

displaying, by the computing device, the first conversation thread ahead of the second conversation thread based on the first rank and the second rank.

39. The method of claim 38, wherein the assigning the first and second ranks is further based on determining, from the analysis of the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread, that the first conversation thread contains more communications than the second communication thread.

40. The method of claim 38, wherein the analysis of the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread comprises using content of the prior communications to determine that the first conversation thread contains communications related to the first topic.

41. The method of claim 40, wherein the first topic is work-related and the second topic is social-related.

42. The method of claim 38, wherein the assigning the first and second ranks is further based on a number of communications in the first conversation thread and a number of communications in the second conversation thread.

43. The method of claim 38, wherein content of the prior communications mentions a sender, and the method further comprises displaying a list of conversation threads involving the sender, the list comprising the first conversation thread.

44. The method of claim 38, wherein a sender is copied in the prior communications, and the method further comprises displaying a list of conversation threads involving the sender, the list comprising the first conversation thread.

45. The method of claim 38, wherein the prior communications are sent by a sender to a user, and the method further comprises displaying a list of contacts associated with the sender, the displaying the list comprising ranking each contact in the list and displaying the contacts in order of their respective rank.

46. The method of claim 45, wherein the ranking of each contact is based at least on a volume of communications between the respective contact and the user.

47. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing computer readable instructions, which when executed cause a system to:

group a first subset of prior communications into a first conversation thread;

group a second subset of the prior communications into a second conversation thread;

analyze the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread and assigning a first rank to the first conversation thread and a second rank to the second conversation thread, the first rank being higher than the second rank, wherein assigning the first and second ranks is based on determining, from the analysis of the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread, that the first conversation thread contains communications related to a first topic and the second conversation thread contains communications related to a second topic; and

display the first conversation thread ahead of the second conversation thread based on the first rank and the second rank.

48. The storage medium of claim 47, wherein the assigning the first and second ranks is further based on determining that the first conversation thread contains more communications than the second communication thread.

49. The storage medium of claim 47, wherein the analysis of the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread comprises using content of the prior communications.

50. The storage medium of claim 49, wherein the first topic is social-related.

51. The storage medium of claim 47, wherein the assigning the first and second ranks is further based on a number of communications in the first conversation thread.

52. A system comprising:

at least one hardware processor; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one hardware processor, cause the system to;

group a first subset of prior communications into a first conversation thread;

group a second subset of the prior communications into a second conversation thread;

analyze the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread and assign a first rank to the first conversation thread and a second rank to the second conversation thread, the first rank being higher than the second rank, wherein assigning the first and second ranks is based on determining, from the analysis of the first conversation thread and the second conversation thread, that the first conversation thread contains communications related to a first topic and the second conversation thread contains communications related to a second topic; and

display the first conversation thread ahead of the second conversation thread based on the first rank and the second rank.

53. The system of claim 52, wherein the instructions further cause the system to collect communication volume data related to the prior communications, and wherein the assigning the first and second ranks is further based on the volume data.

54. The system of claim 52, wherein content of the prior communications includes reference to a sender, and the instructions further cause the system to display a list of conversation threads involving the sender.

55. The system of claim 52, wherein a sender is copied in the prior communications, and the instructions further cause the system to display a list of conversation threads involving the sender.

56. The system of claim 52, wherein the prior communications are sent by a sender to a user, and the instructions further cause the system to display a list of contacts associated with the sender, the displaying the list comprising ranking each contact in the list and displaying the contacts in order of their respective rank.

57. The system of claim 56, wherein the ranking of each contact is based at least on a volume of communications between the respective contact and the user.
