Abstract
Methods and systems for a configurable vehicle dash display are provided. Specifically, a configurable dash may comprise one or more displays that are capable of receiving input from a user. At least one of these displays may be configured to present a plurality of custom applications that, when manipulated by at least one user, are adapted to control and/or monitor functions associated with a vehicle and/or associated peripheral devices. It is anticipated that the function and appearance of the plurality of custom applications may be altered via user and/or processor input.

26. A method of configuring a vehicle dash display, comprising:

separating a vehicle into two or more zones, wherein each zone of the two or more zones corresponds to a physical area inside the vehicle; determining a person is within a zone of the two or more zones of the vehicle; identifying the person within the zone of the vehicle; identifying the zone; determining whether the identified person has configuration settings associated with the identified zone of the vehicle; displaying, at a first time, vehicle dash information in a first layout on a graphical user interface (“
GUI”
) in the zone of the vehicle, the vehicle dash information based on the configuration settings associated with the identified person and the identification of the zone, wherein the vehicle dash information comprises one or more applications, and wherein the one or more applications correspond to vehicle readouts;receiving a first input at the GUI, wherein the first input corresponds to an instruction to alter the first layout of the vehicle dash information to a second layout of the vehicle dash information, and wherein the second layout of the vehicle dash information is different from the first layout of the vehicle dash information; selecting, by a processor, the second layout of the vehicle dash information to display on the GUI; and displaying, at a second time, the second layout of the vehicle dash information on the GUI. - View Dependent Claims (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43)

44. A device for configuring a presentation layout of one or more vehicle applications displayed to a vehicle dash display, comprising:

a first graphical user interface (“
GUI”
) including a first display area;a first input gesture area of the first display area; a vehicle signal input/output port, wherein the vehicle signal input/output port is configured to receive and send signals to and from one or more vehicle devices; a non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, perform the method comprising; separating a vehicle into two or more zones, wherein each zone of the two or more zones corresponds to a physical area inside the vehicle; determining a person is within a zone of the two or more zones of the vehicle; identifying the person within the zone of the vehicle; identifying the zone; determining whether the identified person has configuration settings associated with the identified zone of the vehicle; displaying, at a first time, vehicle dash information in a first layout on the first GUI in the zone of the vehicle, the vehicle dash information based on the configuration settings associated with the identified person and the identification of the zone, wherein the vehicle dash information comprises one or more applications, and wherein the one or more applications correspond to vehicle readouts; receiving a first input at the GUI, wherein the first input corresponds to an instruction to alter the first layout of the vehicle dash information to a second layout of the vehicle dash information, and wherein the second layout of the vehicle dash information is different from the first layout of the vehicle dash information; selecting, by a processor, the second layout of the vehicle dash information to display on the GUI; and displaying, at a second time, the second layout of the vehicle dash information on the GUI. - View Dependent Claims (45)
