1. A mobile robot, comprising:

  • a platform; and

    three wheels situated about the platform and configured to serve as continual points of contact for the mobile robot when used in traversing a work surface of any shape;

    wherein a first and a second of the wheels are operatively coupled on one side of the platform, and a third of the wheels is operatively coupled on an opposing side of the platform, the three wheels having fixed orientations and being oriented in parallel directions.
